Not much on-field to report. As Jordan pointed out, Judge didn't use many team drills during the mini-camp.

I didn't expect to get much out of these OTA's/Mini-Camps.

But I did like the fact that the O-Linemen were all there. Cohesion is paramount with that unit, and they might as well start working on that now, with their new coach, even if they're not in pads, doing any actual hitting.

If the DB's weren't around for the voluntary portions, at least they were working out together and forming a bond. Seems like a very strong group in the secondary, the strongest the Giants have had in years.

Looking forward to training camp, where it seems that the competition will be fierce at all three levels of the defense, and at the skill positions (sans QB) on offense, much more so than we've seen in recent years (at least that's my perception).

The OTA's seem like they are designed to develop rapport and for the mental part of things, not so much technique.

I love our defense. It only lacks a premier pass rusher type (A. Donaldson, V. Miller type) to make it ELITE. However, that doesn't mean that as a unit they won't be consistent and staunch, especially against the run and in the RedZone. We have to really hope that L. Carter and our 2nd round LB pick Ojulwari (sp?) provide pass rush as they both have capability and talent. Carter is coming off that Achilles but he flashed at times when healthy.

This secondary will be top FIVE in the league if it stays healthy. I expect the starters to all be studs and for the backups and nickels to be better than average. This group will HELP our pass rush rather than hurt it as in years past.

The OL is clearly a young group, a "work in progress" but what I like is that they are all returning players familiar with the system and they just need an entire strong camp together to come out opening day in sync and firing off the ball without overthinking and making bad technique moves.

I'm still thinking 10-7 or possibly 11-6 and the division title IF we stay healthy. If we get healthy (Barkley 100% for 17 games, Carter a force at LB) and stay very healthy, well, the sky is the limit. I am one who is not worried about D. Jones if he has a run game and even "average" pass protection.

Get real.

Your cloying optimism is raising my blood sugar. There isn't one unit on the team that doesn't have question marks all over it, not even the secondary. I'd save the predictions until we see who makes the team and who doesn't, and we see the team play a couple of games.
