While it would be a step in the right direction, and we needed the Twins as a 'get right' team, it still doesn't correct all the failure from the past few weeks. I still can't get past all of the fielding errors, hitting (lack of), and especially mental mistakes.
Boone and Cashman are still on the hot seat, and will be all season. IMO, a deep run or title is the only thing that will save one/both.
Is that every single player that leaves the Yankees just HAS to grow a beard or some other facial hair. No matter how ridiculous they look. Happ looks like a clown with that gray ass beard. In the middle of summer no less.

What's wrong with a beard in the summer?
And why is it somehow a fuck you to the antiquated Yankees no-beard policy? Sorry, but that's a weird take.
really not loving the season he is having. He is blocking Torres at 2B, doesn't have enough pop for 1B and isn't a great defender at 3B.
No pop is a perfect description. Just not driving it at all.
As much as I wanted him signed, and I remain hopeful that he won't be an expensive bench piece by 2022, the regression isn't good.
A bench piece? That's some Chicken Little shit right there. Respectfully.
He is the only regular who hasn't show an ounce of getting himself back on track. He was statistically very lucky last year when his barrel rate dropped dramatically. It is dropping further this year and unless he makes some changes to reverse that, he will be an expensive bench piece by next year.
By next year we will have Peraza and Smith pushing for a spot.

Play him at his natural defensive position and get back to me. 3rd, 2nd 1st - all over the place picking up the slack for terrible roster selection. And you're complaining about hitting and calling him a bench player next season. Ok, professor.

Nothing wrong with it. Just something I noticed over the years. Happ has been in the league forever, I don’t remember him ever having a beard. Ever. Though I could be wrong. It’s just something I’ve picked up over the years when players leave the Yankees.
Apparently you have a beard. I’m guessing hiding that hideous mug of yours. Beards cover up a lot of blemishes, B! Sorry to upset your sensitivities. Beards are cool, man! Is that better? Now go shave that beard and send us a pic of what you REALLY look like!

trying to slide between a person's legs with his lack of agility is probably harder to do that Chris Farley fitting into a small jacket without destroying the fucking seams!

It would have been outstanding.
He was better off doing the "BEES, BEES, BEES! defense. Sliding between Donaldson's legs?
These things are good: ice cream and cake, a ride on a Harley, seeing monkeys in the trees, the rain on my tongue and making Miguel Sano my Fucking cunt bitch.
at calling a game there is. Sano sitting dead red and swinging through sliders/breaking balls and Gary calls for FBs. Show Sano one and go right back to the curve. Green had good control of it tonight.
I honestly fell asleep. They lost? Ugggh. Fuck it.
Fell asleep too. Sounds like the 9th was a good miss
Chapman has been the most dominant he’s ever been all season long before last night. He blew one. It happens. Hope just an aberration.
Still, I can feel the trolls gathering in the ladies room as we speak to come enlighten us all with tales of how Chapman sucks. And it’s all Cashman’s fault. And probably Chris Mara’s too.

Certainly not a troll but what happened last night definitely bears keeping an eye on. Had Chapman been beat by guys catching up to his 100 mph+ fastball like Devers did a couple of years ago, I’d just tip my cap and dismiss it as the other guys were better in that spot.
Last night however he was only throwing 95 and got smacked around pretty good. The smacking around doesn’t really concern me as it happens, but the 95 is something I’m interested to see if it was a one off or something more troubling and don’t think it’s trolling to wonder why that’s all he could throw last night.

Certainly a little concerning...and you’re one of the best Yankee posters here, not at all the troll I had in mind. You know the type, no show on Yankee threads for a month, then appear magically to say I told you so when they have a bad game or a bad week
Bigger picture...non of these guys played or pitched a full season last year, I’d expect a lot of guys on every team will have their dead arm periods.
Just hoping it’s only that, and not a sign of injury
they were leading the entire game, and Chapman does that.
Maybe he thought he was pitching in October, just embarrassing to blow that game!
Quirky schedule, off on Friday, that's very strange.

I just watched the highlights again, the pitch to Donaldson
was only 95 MPH, the one to Cruz was 98. Just bad location
to good hitters had more to do with it.

Yeah and I think the hits were 95 as well. I know 98 is still up there and seems a bit funny for me to question when a guy can still get it up there like that but I’m so used to seeing him really crank it, and topping 100 it seems more times than not this year.
Probably as Section mentioned, he was struggling with location and that was the reason he dropped some velocity in order to throw strikes. Just sucked it happened to be against really good fastball hitters, and even with the lower velocity his location still being off set them up nicely to tag him.
Boone and Cashman are still on the hot seat, and will be all season. IMO, a deep run or title is the only thing that will save one/both.
But I will still be tuned in, go Yanks!
Gonna be hard to top this post. Classic and dead on taboot.
and the Juicy Lucies:
Maybe Mr King can keep the ball in the park tonight?
Cy Happ tonight for sure. All kind of spin rate.

Yes. That is exactly what I had in mind.
great try though.
great try though.
Exactly. He cannot block the plate.
great try though.
Because he has the right to catch the ball
He was literally trying to block the plate with his body. Urshela slowed down because he didn't want to destroy Happ and was out because of it.

ok
I guess that avoided the DP but I was hoping he would have tried to slide through Donaldson's legs.
Frazier with a laser right at the RF. Can't get a break.

Gary did the smart thing on the bases there, credit where due. I’m picturing Inigo saying “Fezzik...you did something right”
clutch by DJ.
5-2
This does not bode well...then the bench player gets an RBI single.

You wanted Gary Sanchez to slide thru Josh Donaldson's legs? Like a Fucking CIA operative?
OK. I'm done.
Seriously. I haven’t seen the record lately, but I think we’re still playing about .800 ball in Minnesota since about the Showalter era
It would have been outstanding.

I'm just glad he has a cannon to make up for his tepid approach to tracking balls over his head.
Yes, but he is learning quickly. Some of his angles are bad. OF is not that hard to learn. He has a 3B arm, so it should be strong. Nice play.

Calls that bad, this often, are guaranteeing they are putting themselves out of the important parts of their job very soon.

Chappie grooved that one and Donaldson didn't miss.
Cruz did the same.
That was suboptimal.

Last three (homer,single,homer) were grooved.
Very odd.
And now we know who to blame for the collapse.

Maybe he thought he was pitching in October, just embarrassing to blow that game!
Quirky schedule, off on Friday, that's very strange.

Consider this a pre-emptive shhh
Certainly not a troll but what happened last night definitely bears keeping an eye on. Had Chapman been beat by guys catching up to his 100 mph+ fastball like Devers did a couple of years ago, I’d just tip my cap and dismiss it as the other guys were better in that spot.

Can't remember the last time this happened. Fucking stupid.
