A year later, the Euros gets underway with Italy v Turkey. Always has been my favorite tournament even with the expanded format.
Although France are heavy favorites, I think with the amount of soccer played these last 14 months that players are tired and any team can get hot and make a run.

IT's a personal foul because if you pull from behind and than fall on the back of them to tackle him, it can break a leg. Just the act of pulling someone down by the neck isn't really dangerous on its own.
And the NBA? I'm curious what that has to do with anything. They pretty much call those purposeful fouls flagrant 2s so they don't slow play.
He pulled him down by neck of the jersey in an effort to prevent what was about to be a breakaway. So, in football, that’s a horse collar (which is always dangerous, even if you’re not Roy Williams going for the legs), and in basketball you’re additionally penalized for impeding the progress. Pretty sure hockey as well. That’s the reference’s purpose.
Do not understnad what some of these managers are doing with their 5 spot in penalties. Seen some awful decisions on who to man that spot throughout this tournament.

They should get rid of it for finals. There's really no reason not to just play till a goal, one would happen eventually with defenses breaking down.

OK, crazy idea but it would be interesting to see them try it. The thing about just keeping on playing (no penalties) is that teams can park the bus and make it very difficult to score. You don't want boring defensive overtimes.
