NFT: Knick Chat

Pete44 : 6/11/2021 10:57 am
It is being reported by Empire Sports Media that the Knicks are one of the teams interested in Pacers C Myles Turner.

This would make some sense as Turner is a rim protector and an offensive threat. The lack of Gibson/Noel being an offensive threat was definitely a detriment in the Hawks series. Of course, the cost could be prohibitive as Indiana is tough to deal with.

It's a flagrant 1 definitely. It's not a 2. But the league has changed, I suppose, so it is what it is.

That being said there are a number past MVPs in the league I can think of that I have a difficult time believing would be ejected in an elimination game.

maybe maybe not, but the fact is he threw a hissy fit because he was having a bad game, and full wind up tried to hurt Payne, there eas no basketball play there, he tried to hard foul him. He could of easily broken Paynes nose..

His intent was to hurt Payne which is why he was ejecred

Two smaller market teams that were put together the traditional way with great scouting and drafting and smart FA signings and trades. It would be great for the league.

I read that story too. I can't see how he's a competent exec with no league experience. He was telling Carlisle who to play and what his rotations should be? Insanity.

it basically says that Luka will sign his super max but that the mavs window to build around him will be that extension (5 years). So he isnt leaving anytime soon.
pretty much every young star takes
Enzo : 6/14/2021 2:20 pm : link
the 4+1 max deal from the team that drafts them. But now that the money is so huge in the first few years of the extension, I wonder if players will start asking for 3+1 or even 2+1 deals so that they have more control over their career earlier.

He would be taking a pretty big financial risk, but barring a career ending injury he would make most of that money back in a few years. But I think he should he at least consider it.

Like you said the Mavs are pretty locked into that roster and honestly he should be an even bigger star than he is. Maybe a bigger market could be that enticing but I'm probably just being a wishful Knicks homer.

is a foul. It's a foul because it's dangerous to the player coming down.

If deemed intentional, it's a flagrant.

I didn't check the Nets' message board before forming my opinion of the Giannis/Kyrie play but, now that I have, there are certainly a number of posters seeing it as a dirty play.

You're kidding! Nets fans posting on a message board thought that a play that resulted in a Kyrie injury was dirty?

What are the odds of that?

The Sixers are doing to the Hawks
Leg of Theismann : 6/14/2021 8:44 pm : link
What the Hawks did to the Knicks. Where it just becomes painfully clear the other team has more talent and over time it just slowly suffocates you to death. Honestly this series should’ve been a sweep of Doc hadn’t been late to the party with putting Simmons on Trae in game 1.

You can see Young getting slowly more and more frustrated. You could see it in his eyes after game 3 he knew he wasn’t winning this series. Notice similar to the Knicks when a players starts saying “it’s a 7 game series, first to 4 wins, etc.” it usually means they can tell they’re about to lose, they’re just searching for some way to delay their inevitable fate. I remember Julius Randle and RJ saying it, and Trae said it after game 3.

I have to say i’ve been getting a lot of guilty pleasure out of watching the Hawks slowly die and self destruct (since game 2 when Doc finally woke up). The Hawks are by far the team I hate most in the NBA right now, and this started well back in the regular season for me, not even with this past playoff series.

I still can’t believe how many people thought the Hawks suddenly had more talent than the Sixers, based solely on the fact they had more talent than the Knicks lmao
If* Doc hadn’t been late to the party

By the way
Leg of Theismann : 6/14/2021 9:00 pm : link
I think the Hawks could’ve given several other remaining playoff teams some problems— but the Hawks with Simmons and Embiid are literally the kryptonite to this Trae + Capela/Collins pick n roll shit. Simmons has been Phenomenal. I’m surprised more people haven’t mentioned the fact you couldn’t pick a much better duo to defend this shit. Trae is running around like he doesn’t know what he’s doing with his life and Embiid is making Capela his bitch the way Capela made Noel/Taj his bitch. This is really really enjoyable to watch.
I’m getting really fucking tired
Leg of Theismann : 6/14/2021 9:22 pm : link
Of hearing the Hawks fans boo every 3 possessions thinking a travel should be called on the Sixers. Like have any of you watched basketball in the last 25 years, or ever? These are not even close to travels. If anything Trae Young is the only one in this game who hasn’t been called for traveling when he should’ve been.
Am I the only one noticing
Leg of Theismann : 6/14/2021 9:41 pm : link
That Brian Anderson is not even trying to hide the fact he wants the Hawks to win? It’s insane the difference in his reactions between the two teams’ buckets. He’s literally screaming after every Atlanta basket and then you see Dwight Howard with a massive dunk or Shake Milton with a nice And 1 and it’s crickets.
Haven’t watched much but Kim Jones

Not calling out my earlier post for being wildly pre mature lol. But i still say the Sixers are winning this series as they’re clearly the better team. They still have the home court and Hawks got incredibly lucky— I’m pretty sure Embiid had zero FGs in the 2nd half which will never happen again. That said I’m not sure what was wrong with Embiid for that half he looked out of it and lethargic— not sure if the injury is catching up with him.

It was honestly the most ridiculous broadcast I’ve ever heard. And it’s weird to because I get the Hawks broadcasts all season because I live in Nashville and their crew is the most biased “team” broadcast of any team broadcast I’ve ever heard (which is saying something). They’re literally always saying NOT ENOUGH fouls are called in Trae’s favor (imagine that). So here we are with TNT broadcasts in the playoffs and for some odd reason Brian Anderson is literally orgasming after every Trae Young 3. He’s a 33% 3 shooter why do people act like it counts for 5 points every time he makes one?

And their taunting after every single basket is one of the cringiest things I’ve ever seen in pro sports.
