Great defense, if you are not certain what defense is in the NHL, watch the Isles play, they prevent their opponents from getting started...stick checks, getting in their way, fore checks and never allowing a 2-1 situation.
They have frustrated their opponents.
Expect a rougher go of it for game 2, but if isles can somehow pull that off, this is going to get realllllly interesting
Also, fuck the Islanders.
LGFI!
Also, fuck the Islanders.
hmmm didnt seem like any fans were there
Ugh!
Sucks to have it spoiled for you, but you should stay off internet sports if you’re taping a game and don’t want to know the outcome. Just basic common sense.
Oh please
Great game by the Isles this afternoon. It was the game they wanted to play from the opening faceoff. Great defense and great discipline all game. Varly was stout again,
Will get an increased effort and desperation from Tampa on Tuesday. It will be a much tougher game. But if they can win that one?
LGI!!!
Shut down the internet until this guys finishes watching the delay. You people have nerve.
LGI
Should've asked him. They haven't played in Bklyn in over a year, maybe longer
You went to a New York sports message board while you were watching a New York team’s game on delay, and we’re shocked there was a thread giving away the result?
That is your fault, Bill, not the OP’s.

No, it's not a matter of common sense. It's a matter of respecting other people. He could have had the same thread by calling it just Islanders or Islanders-TB. There is no need to put the outcome in the title. If it was a Giants thread on game day, I'd stay away. But I should be able to access this site and avoid clicking on another team's game without being forced to see the outcome.
There is a huge difference between a movie or TV show (where nobody talks about the ending because people watch it all different times) and a live sporting event. The day after a movie is released, papers don’t write headlines about the outcome. For sports, they do. Not at all the same thing.
I’m sorry the end of the game was ruined for you. I’ve had it happen and it sucks. But when a game is over people should be allowed to discuss the game outside the game thread and without spoilers.

The Islanders had the Bolts on their heels the whole game.

Cousin is big Isles fan. I don't want to ask him, but are they still playing in Brooklyn? I get Brooklyn is technically a part of Long Island, but come on.

LGI!!! Complainers on here sound like Rangers fans. haha!!!
I expect a big pushback from the Lighting tomorrow. They will be juiced, even if their lame fans aren't (that arena sounded like the bubble tournament from last summer).

This is the same question I have too. How much of this was the Islanders imposing their will defensively, and how much was a sort of flat effort from TB? I think it is likely more the first than the last, as how do you not get up for a home playoff game?
Tuesday Tampa will be energized and hungry. I doubt the Isles can shut them down completely again, but if they can contain them again? This is a very winnable series.
