deGrom threw batting practice today and is good to go for Wednesday. McNeil 0-2 for Brooklyn yesterday. Should be back by this weekend. Tough loss yesterday but awesome taking the series. Let's get a rebound from Peterson tonight! LFGM!
He'll be fine.
We need good Pete for this stretch of games!
Gotta believe one of these days either will break out for real.
Both are up to a 90-ish wRC+ after being around 60 a couple of weeks ago.
So I guess that's progress.
I just said he's up to a 90 wRC+ after being around 60 and that was progress.
You're happy with his season overall?

has a .954 OPS in June coming into today. How is he sucking? He's not Mike Trout, he's been very good for a decent run now.

Absolutely not. But unlike Dom, Lindor over the last 15-20 games looks like Francisco Lindor. I don't see why he's being grouped in with Dom. Dom since that same Colorado series
.226/.323/.377, .700 OPS. I'd take the Francisco Lindor we've seen over the last 3+ weeks witth A++ defense any day of the week.
Im not happy with either of Lindor's or Dom's seasons regardless of how they got where they are today.
Im also not worried about either.

I'm not really looking to argue but you suggested every time either one of them has a few good games they revert. 17 games of .846 OPS and June .954, I don't see the comparison. If Dom reels off an 11 game stretch of a .954 OPS going forward everybody will be going wild about how Dom is back.
Means nothing
There have been multiple times Lindor has had a good game or two in April, and May, and followed it up with a week of terrible play again.
All Im saying I would like to see him heat up for real and maintain it.
I believe he will at some point.
Im glad you're thrilled with his June play, but I'd still like to see more before Im convinced he'll keep it going.
Make sense?
Yes, 11 games. Thanks.
"Every time Lindor or Dom have a good game this year

And show signs of coming out of it, they pretty much go right back to sucking."

Ok, so you took it literally. Got it. I wasn't being literal. Have a good one though. This conversation is pointless.

wRC+ Francisco Lindor was "only" 7th amongst SS 2016-2020 (117), his June wRC+ is 165
Yes, 11 games. Thanks.
And an .843 OPS over his last 17. A 17 game stretch by any player isn't enough to accept they are hittting well vs. "a good game"? Again, your expectations are clearly beyond the reality of the player he is. He's an elite defensive SS who will give you an .830-.850 OPS most seasons. Brandon Nimmo has a career .840 OPS, Conforto .835. What makes him special is a sum of parts.
Agree with this. Lindor wobbled before the weekend, slightly, but his ABs weren’t bad. Dom looked out of whack until tonight. Nice to see Dom and Peterson working through things.
Baseball is a game of streaks. Every hitter goes hot and cold. Lindor and Dom have both been unacceptable offensively this year up until today. Both are at exactly 90 wRC+. Like I said, Im glad your convinced Lindor's last 11 games means he'll be great the rest of the year. I believe that's also possible. I just need to see more. And I'd also like to see him tear off a really hot week or two once in a while. I dont believe that's happened yet. The guy has hit 38 HR in a season. Let's see him rip off 5 HR over 10 games or something like that...
Nimmo, Dom, Conforto, Pillar are obviously on the big club, McKinney for now looks like he has a solid spot so that's already 5 OF's. Almora has to be on the outside looking in at that point. Both Villar and Peraza also have OF experience.

Yup and Peraza will stay until Davis comes back, if he ever does.
Betances is going to have to prove he can throw 96/97+ in the minors before he can be activated IMO. Really hope they dont bring him back "just because". Would be a complete waste of time.

decision will be Betances. He can stay rehabbing for 30 days but then he either needs to be added back to the 40 man or DFA'ed. I'd hate to see a better player removed from the 40 man if Betances isn't looking much better than he has.

91-94 first time out, I want to be fair because I "defended" Ginn's velocity to some on twitter but Betances doesn't have the command to be successful at 91-94 and he's likely too old to figure it out now. I hope in addition to a SP which they are on record looking to add they consider a solid depth reliever the way Tyler Clippard used to be floating around the league.
might as well DL May. He's lost

Yeah agreed. And I bet they do.
