How do the bucks blow this game. I’ll give credit where credit is due, Kevin Durant is an incredible player and he carried them tonight. But the bucks basically had the series if they win tonight and they blew it. Nets will sweep the eastern conference finals to make the finals. No teams in the west except maybe the Clippers have a chance against the nets and I don’t think it’s much of a chance. Is there a more unlikeable team in sports then the nets right now.
What a waste of a championship team, I know it’s annoying to repeat there are literally 100 nets fans in the world and they are going to win a championship that no one cares about it. I’m assuming the parade would be in Brooklyn not Manhattan?
It absolutely feels that way, but they have two games to change the narrative against a Nets team that will be running on fumes. Now or never for them - right now they are the healthiest team remaining in the entire playoff bracket.
Shitty product in both the regular season and playoff not much better. Nets winning will not grow their fan base appreciably.

Giannis and Bud and the Bucks franchise as a whole feels like they took a massive era-defining L last night. Giannis taking that fadeaway over a hobbled Harden late in the game was brutal.

Yea for sure, this isn’t “technically” over for the Bucks. They are still in a decent position. But that’s the kind of loss that hurts so much that you feel like they can’t recover. I would be surprised if they won this series.

false and the numbers and deals and traction on social media reinforce that silly narrative.
I was just gonna let him enjoy his not-so-subtle political rant.
Good to see you around hitdog - hope you're enjoying the afterglow from last night's game.
you can hate his decision to go to GS, you can hate his decision to form a super team with the Nets, you can hate the NBA or how the game has changed. But there was no super team around him yesterday, there likely won't be for the rest of the postseason either, and the last few games have been as evenly matched and physical as any game in the 90's. That was as close of a glimpse of what everyone likes to wax poetic about as "peak NBA" as we've seen in a while, so if that's causing you outrage perhaps it's not the NBA that has changed...
Philly without healthy embiid, no chance
Hawks no chance.
There you go easy way to the finals
Western conference, if kawhi doesn’t come back for this series then jazz win easily.
Jazz and Suns have absolutely no chance of beating the nets. They both match up terribly.

It was an epic effort. The efficiency was phenomenal in terms of shots taken to get to 49 points.
With LBJ gone, I'm rooting for anyone-but-the-Nets because of Irving and Harden. But Durant is clearly on a legacy building mission.
Bucs did blow it. And a lot of it falls on strategy and adjustments under Budenholzer. He's on very thin ice right now...
You keep talking about the Nets as if they're 100 percent healthy. We all agree they're unbeatable under those circumstances. Kyrie is out indefinitely and Harden can't move - they needed a legendary 48-minute performance from KD just to get a 3-2 lead in the second round. The current series is still very much up for grabs, even though you declared it over last night.

Yeah this says it all. Their health is very much in question and its insanely unrealistic to imagine Durant being able to carry a load and efficiency like last night for another 9 wins.
Had nothing to do with it. Let’s not give credit to him for that, you want to give him credit for Harden, but I think any gm can say I will give every draft pick available and my 2 best young players on good contracts for harden. Not a difficult trade to put together.
Additionally yes I hate what Lebron did by starting this whole thing with the heat. Nothing made me happier then seeing them lose in year 1. I hated it again after he went to the Lakers and ad forced his way there. I don’t like Lebron either and he doesn’t even belong in the same sentence as michael jordan. I think KD is a better all around player than Lebron. I never have fear when Lebron has the ball at the end of the game, he isn’t a great shooter outside the paint, but KD gives you that same nauseating feeling as MJ did. Th advantage that Lebron has over KD is he has for the most part stayed healthy and played for a longer time, let’s see how KD stacks up 5 years from now if he stays healthy. He almost certainly will have 2 more rings, this year and most likely next year. Not sure if the nets can keep this team together after that. One thing I can tell you is sean marks will have no say in it, KD and Kyrie will make those decisions.
hate to rain on your sunshine but im pretty sure you are misreading how either scenario plays out.
1. The Nets just needed KD to play 48 minutes and Jeff Green to go 7/8 from 3 to barely win 1 home game. They had a tighter rotation than Hickory. You think that's guaranteed to be sustainable for 9 more wins? Harden looked unable to go above a 5 on a treadmill. Kyrie is on crutches and in a walking boot.
2. If the Nets don't win I find it hard to believe Kyrie Irving will get shit for Giannis undercutting him and his ankle bending 90 degrees the wrong way. Or James Harden for suffering (and pretty valiantly attempting to play through) basically his first injury of the decade. Or KD for not being able to win a championship with Jeff Green and Blake Griffin on their minimum contracts as his main sidekicks.
all you have to do is check the vegas odds - the injuries have removed a lot of the expectation and possibly actually given each of the big 3 the chance to earn respect/praise they wouldn't have even if they rolled through an undefeated postseason fully healthy. Last night KD showed a lot of people he can carry a team to victory the way Lebron did. Meanwhile Harden and Kyrie each have the chance to display the 2 qualities nobody has ever credited either with - toughness and selflessness.
There will be plenty of rest time for harden and Kyrie. As wel as green shot harris shot so poorly, it balances itself out.
To the playoffs, it’s a little early to crown the Nets the championship. A few weeks ago, when Anthony Davis came back, I would have thought the Lakers were the favorites. The Bucks might just be a very good in season team with little chance of going deep in the playoffs, too may flaws. And I wouldn’t rule out Philly or Atlanta,as easily as others have. Who knows about them west with the news about Leonard and CO3 but that’s a few weeks from now.
Early 40s here and grew up watching the same team. Petrovic is still my favorite NBA player of all time.

They don't sign with the Nets if Marks didn't come on board. Everything he did up to that point was what have them that opportunity.

Do you really think KD and Kyrie choose the Nets if the Nets were the dogshit team they were before Marks got there? Not a chance.
And all of you Knicks fans acting like you didn't want KD and Kyrie are full of shit. I remember the FA threads. Sure, you weren't crazy about Kyrie (neither was I), but he was worth it to get Kyrie. I don't remember a SINGLE Knicks fan saying he didn't want KD, or that KD was a jerk. It's all fucking sour grapes.

To get KD, not Kyrie.
I don’t give a fuck if I’m the one and only fan who enjoys the runs this team is capable of (I know I’m not). But I just don’t understand these comments, does this make you feel better about yourself?
Knicks fans still live in the world of 1990 Mike Francesa bad takes, where the gahden is the mecker and nothing else matters

He s the best player in the NBA. Unbelievable talent
Kyrie is incredibly unlikeable and what Harden did in Houston was garbage, but any NBA fan would be thrilled to have this roster- who cares how they got it. And as a Knicks fan, I would have taken Eddy Curry back if it meant Durant was coming. Anyone with half a brain knows that Durant is one of the most talented players ever.
And honestly that team showed a lot of toughness in Game 5. I gained a lot of respect for that win and lost a lot for the Bucks.
I would be. I don't get all of the hate for the Jets around here. They haven't won squat in over 50 years.
And no one is asking you to be happy about the Nets winning, just don't be such a little bitch about it.
Took me four tries to post this because auto-correct defaults to Mets.
Ben Simmons is an abysmal foul shooter and a very poor shooter. He has an enormous contract and I think trading for Ben would be an egregious mistake.
Many NBA scouts and executives feel that the Rockets trade with the Nets is a very good deal. The Rockets have to be patient and draft well.
Ben Simmons is one of the most overrated players in the NBA.
Hahaha. Perfect.
Cry more. Wah.

Without realizing who started it and why is fucking hilarious. I'm not a basketball guy and was ambivalent about the Knicks, but this is going a long way to making me hope they stay irrelevant for the next 32 years of my life.

this only works if I'm actually upset. Catch me on a rangers thread, maybe then your replies will work. Knicks fans just look like total little bitch boys all over this board
Yeah yeah yeah. I'll be sure to catch you on a Rangers thread.
Losers going to remain losers.

Waaaaahhhh
This is all Nix fans… I don’t think any Nets fans made any such definitive statements.
