A NY Championship goes a long way in creating, developing and growing a fanbase.

It will hurt the Knicks....everyone hates their owner and I was 10 when Reed brought them a championship and most here wasn't even alive....

They may be emptying the tank in round two.

As a lifelong Nets fan, I care. You obviously care enough to make a thread about it just to say no one will care about it.

I don’t give a fuck if I’m the one and only fan who enjoys the runs this team is capable of (I know I’m not). But I just don’t understand these comments, does this make you feel better about yourself?

There 3 stars are so unlikeable it would be hard to be that excited to win. What are these guys going to say at the championship parade. They have no connection with the fans, they have been here for not long and they all have terrible personalities. They literally found a team with caproom that was good for their off the court businesses and were originally going to the Knicks but decided to boycott Dolan.

Durant wants more championships than Lebron and wants to make as much money as possible. He could care less about fans.

That was one of the most legendary performances I have ever seen in professional sports. Absolutely unbelievable! I’m just glad the Knicks didn’t offer him the max…

than Nets fans. But to say they have no fans and that no one will care if they win a championship is just stupid. I have been a Nets fan since the 70s; there are many others like me. The world doesn't revolve around the Knicks.

All the teams left (except Hawks and Nuggets) could give them a good run if Harden and Irving are hurt. If they are healthy, probably not.

Congrats on being a nets fan this is the closest I have come to actually meeting one. Yea I am probably a little bitter about a team that 100 people care about winning a championship. I stand by my statements I wanted durant as a Knicks fan but no lt if it meant having Kyrie irving as a package deal. Kyrie is so talented but I could not stand having him on my team and don’t get me started in james harden. He some how is as equally as unlikeable as Kyrie. I don’t believe you for a second that this championship will be that rewarding as a fan. It was like when yanks finally won with arod, it just didn’t feel right. Respect on the honesty of being bitter. If the Nets win the chip it will absolutely be rewarding as a fan. You simply can’t compare the feelings of the Yankees winning their 27th championship to what would be the Nets first championship since the merger and the first in my lifetime. Would a championship of Kidd, Martin, and RJ have felt more rewarding? Probably, they were huge underdogs and nothing beats the underdog story (Giants in 07)… but not liking Kyrie and Harden is a personal preference, they seem to be genuinely good people who I absolutely enjoy rooting for.

and it’s probably going seven. Maybe they’ll win it all, maybe they won’t. It’s not the cakewalk you’re making it out to be.

You lost me at finding it easy to root for harden and Kyrie. Harden whined and cried like a baby to get his way and the idiot owner of the rockets could have had ben simmons and let’s his personal dislike for the Sixers gm get in the way and makes a terrible trade with the nets and harden gets his way. His brand of basketball while improved on the nets is horrible to watch.

Kyrie quit on the celtics, again I don’t mind because I dislike the Celtics, but will never want any a player who quits on his team on the team that I root for.

Durant takes the easiest way possible to get his championships. These guys have no affinity for the fans. I’m not saying the players have to go over the top with the fans, but show a little care.

Bceagle your an on denial knicks fan. I know that feeling, but bucks just gave away the series. It’s over harden will be better next game or if it actually goes 7, they will win it then. Bucks remind of Knicks, it’s so hard to score, nothing is easy.

Sixers even with a healty embiid would have struggled to beat nets, now they have 0 chance.

The only hope in the west is the Clippers but I just don’t see it, they don’t play well as a team.

Harden is immobile and Kyrie is on crutches - not sure why you’re so certain that’s changing any time soon. Philly won’t beat the Nets but they’re a physical team that will take their pound of flesh. The NBA Finals will be a highly competitive series. If the Nets win it all, my summer won’t be ruined. I’ve assumed it would happen since the Harden trade.

Whole life, and I’m glad they’re out of the playoffs, all is right with the world again 🤡🤡. That being said the Nets parade will be huge if they do win the chip because all those bitter knicks fans will jump on the bandwagon and proclaim since they’re technically a NY team it counts toward them winning a championship as well.

No knicks fan is jumping on the nets fan bandwagon. You can hate on the Knicks all you want, they have been awful for a long time, but they have truest most diehard fans. I have suffered through every year for the last 20 years and watched every game and all my friends have as well. There will be plenty of bandwagon nets fans because that’s all they have, there are not many true diehard nets fans

So, any time a small market team wins a title in any sport it is a waste because of the "fans"?

The parade matters? Parade? Sounds like the Rangers fans who could only talk about parade locations after the Devils won another Stanley Cup. By the way, the Giants are a New Jersey team and the only reason why the NY Mayor allowed them to have a parade in NYC is because there was no competing team in Manhattan.

Also just want to mention that I myself have been a NJ Nets fan ever since I was a little kid. Use to go to Brendan Byrne arena and run around the top of the arena with my older brother and friends. Great time. I'm in early 40'S. This is nothing like the devils winning. The devils had likeable players that played with the team for many years. The nets have literally the 2 most unlikeable players in the nba and Durant is such a moody, angry person he makes it hard to root for him as good as he is. I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if KD and Kyrie don’t go to the championship parade. That’s how little they care.

KD just wants the easiest way possible to get more rings then lebron, not taking anything away from how good he is, he is incredible. Kawhi’s championship in Toronto will always put him a step above KD when it comes to playoff greatness, KD got his championships without breaking a sweat. The season is over bucks had the only chance to take out the nets and they absolutely choked. The season is over no remaining teams have a chance to beat them. I guess I should stop being a sore loser and offer my congrats to nets fans.

Durant absolutely would want, harden and Kyrie no way. I would rather the team the Knicks had this year and come up short then steal a championship with Kyrie irving and James harden on my team.
