He snapped for Tynes' attempt to win it on the final play of regulation and he snapped so high that Tynes duck hooked the kick sending it into overtime. In spite of that Alford was able to make an acceptable snap under extreme pressure in OT. He was definitely an unsung hero in that game.

IIRC, didn't he have a (beautiful) sack on Brady towards the end of the SB? I think it was him who came right up the middle (fast) and put Brady on his back. I think it was him?
To the best of my knowledge the Giants rotated long snappers that year; Alford handled field goals and DeOssie punts.
