NFT: Stan Van Gundy OUT - Pelicans

I hope this news doesn't impact the likelihood of Lonzo Ball (RFA) shaking free. He is my target for this year in FA. Randle had a wonderful year but he is not a primary ball handler. Just not a sustainable way to win. He is more of a secondary guy in terms of facilitating offense.

Isnt s primary ball handler either, gifted passer but he played mostly off the ball with the Pelicans. He is a drive and kick type player. I don’t think he would be the type of pg the Knicks need and I would not pay him $22 million to be our 2 guard

im conflicted but can see Lonzo and IQ being a pretty good backcourt tandem...but the $$$ may just be too high

absolutely do 4 years, $88mm for a 23 year old 6'6" guard who can play on or off the ball, passes it beautifully, has an extraordinary BBALL IQ, defends well, has his 3 point shooting up to 38%.

Melo scares me especially at 20 million per for 4 years.
I know I have never said this but I have faith in the front office and Thibs to make the right call.

Not close to an expert but it seems as though the league is changing and guards like CP3 are fewer and fewer. The notion of PGs who look primarily to pass is getting less frequent and every guard needs to be a shooter. Not sure how this would work out with Ball but I think he’s be a major upgrade to this team and they should grab him if they can get him.

I caught multiple Pels games this season where it seemed-in crunch time-NOLA had no freaking clue what it was doing.
