Sharing in case any one has any additional thoughts re: where to reach out and complain.
I live in LA. Going home for a friend's wedding back upstate and after over a year without live baseball, I just had to include a trip to the stadium. One reason I haven't at least seen the Dodgers or Angels is that single tickets are so hard to purchase. I don't mind doing things alone. I do start to mind when they make it almost impossible to do so.
Well, I started planning my trip several months ago, and foresight in this case was a very bad idea. With flight and accommodations in place to allow me to take in the game 6/30 from row 1 in right field, the Yankees and Ticketmaster pulled my ticket due to capacity reasons. Nevermind that Yankee Stadium will reach full capacity starting with the Oakland series this weekend. It doesn't fully make sense to me, but I'm thinking they pulled my ticket so they can make my section vax-only and charge more. Not that I got a chance to share my vax proof.
I applied for a refund credit, but it's been several days and no credit has yet been applied. This credit will be good for Yankees games only. I'm going home for this wedding. I don't know when I will be in NY again.
What excuse do Ticketmaster/Yankees have for holding my money at this point? Do they really expect me to pour more cash into buying my ticket again? They are not my bank. I bought a legit ticket, I deserve the credit to get another to replace it in time. Obviously RF Row 1 is gone.
Neither Ticketmaster nor NYY have persons available to speak with you via phone. I have tweeted Yankees, Ticketmaster, Michael Kay, hell even Meredith, in hopes of getting some kind of response. Needless to say, although I know COVID is a major obstacle to ticketed events, I think this is bullshit and I deserve my credit immediately.
So once again, any other ideas?
Problem solved.
Your cc protects you from asshole vendors, and your chargeback punishes those asshole vendors.
Ticketmaster deserves everything evil that comes to them.
I wish customers realized that ticket platforms are cash registers, not decision makers.
Read my entire post. It's because I don't have the credit yet. Counting down the days to the game. I instantly applied for the credit thinking it would be no big deal. From looking around on Twitter, they seem to be holding people's money interminably. That's exactly what I planned on doing. Tickets are being bought up and I likewise refuse to pour new cash into this.

People need to be able to plan events in their life. I bought a ticket, but I also bought a hotel room, the right flight to get me there, and Amtrak on my way out of town. If the Yankees and Ticketmaster hold my money so that I can't use it to rebuy the ticket in time, that is a travesty and I don't see how you can think otherwise.
For anyone saying the Yankees suck, they're doing you a favor, etc. After my ticket was pulled, I applied for a credit that is good for Yankees games. I would go to the game on 6/30 if the Yankees were winless. It's about enjoying America's Pastime after a long hard year and a half. It's unfair for them to expect me to apply this credit to some other random date, if I indeed do not receive my credit in time. Regardless, I am missing out on good seat options as time elapses.
Your credit card company will handle the charge back and the annoyance, and you get to secure a seat for the game.

I did it from debit. This may be my next recourse but RE: Ticketmaster "Your credit selection is final and cannot be changed." That would be fine if I was confident that it would be processed expediently. I applied Friday. What would make me happiest is if Ticketmaster and the Yankees allowed me to use the monies I have extended to them to attend the baseball game of my choice. I want them to keep my money. Apparently they don't care if folks are from out of town or have to buy tickets twice over on faith that a credit will later arrive. I may look into a chargeback as the date approaches. I do appreciate the good advice from you and others that suggested this.

Kyle replied to my email but has not answered the phone, yet. I don't think he's going to help. Basically just told me to buy another ticket.
It's because it was someone's season ticket.
I have resolved the issue and it was entirely thanks to kinard. Bugging Kyle got me a refund. As of right now, I still have the same "processing your credit" message from TM. But my cash was returned and I bought a new ticket with it.
