Inwas a little surprised they didn't at least get him a few extra days off inbetween starts to just try and get everything right. I just heard they are calling it shoulder soreness. So who knows. We all just hold our breath again. Although I will say his last pitch to strikole out Stock was 100 mph. I doubt it's serious.

He finished the inning after acknowledging it in the middle.

My guess is its sore because he's been overcompensating for the other issues.

Either way, he needs to get shut down for 2 weeks and heal.

And its coming at the worst time possible.

I'm going to stay positive. The only thing I'm bummed about is that he had 8 ks through 3 perfect innings, and you always think that something special could happen anytime deGrom is on the mound, and to have that start in this game, tonight could've been the night.

Very possible he could've chased 20 Ks tonight. Would've only needed to strikeout 12 of 18 of the remaining batters, which for deGrom is child's play.

deGrom is on another level this year. He's a surefire MVP if he's healthy.

Its going to be sad if deGrom is robbed of something that could have been truly special.

Agreed. He was dealing. I’m gonna think he’s been overcompensating for one strain or another. Just shut him down and deal with it. Bats just need to be really alive now and we can weather this.

My thoughts as well. Cautiously optimistic since he finished the inning strong. Shut him down for a couple weeks. Sign a Porcello or Bartolo in the meantime.

He is in the midst of one of the all time greatest seasons a pitcher has ever had - even now that might be in jeopardy - let alone the Mets playoff chances reduce without him.

if he's so fragile - and they knew going in to the game he had a lingering issue - he might not be getting the best medical advice.

IOW - is the same guy who told Nimmo his ligament tear was nerve damage also the guy telling deGrom he's fine to make his next start (tonight)?

No, that's his symptom. They still have to do an MRI to do a proper diagnosis, which will likely happen tomorrow.

Couple of rough outings previously

struggled again, 5 BB's (and 4 ER) in 4 IP. 6K's, but the walks will keep him in Syracuse I think.

Loup move and it’s something that I wouldn’t have expected Rojas to do earlier in the season. Up 6-1, protect the game by preventing runs in the 6th and 7th instead of throwing a lesser reliever out there like Smith. Good move.

Yeah his in game decisions seem to be getting better. Loved that move too.

It was a nice move. Well, 10 games up, a 5-1 start to a home stand against winning teams and everyone feels crappy. Hope for good new on DeGrom!

Yup. Heal up those nagging issues. I dont care if his MRI is 100% clean. Shut him down.

Showed no decline of strength in the right shoulder

So it is unlikely to be a tear. I guess it could be a sign that a rotator cuff is imminent but almost certainly no serious structural damage yet

Degrom also said he was confident it was nothing serious

Not a doctor (I say that in a positive way) but definitely disheartening to see how unsure he was about his arm vs the last 2 times where he essentially laughed it off. Fingers crossed
