Kind of surprised I'm not seeing more @mets fans clamoring for them to sign Semien in the off-season. He's proven IF versatility that could be valuable if/when Baty is deemed ready... oh and he's very good
Did Lindor swing on 3-0 down 2 in the ninth with 1 out and Pete on deck. Stupid
Wasn’t it 3-1?
I only saw some of the game (on the edge of my seat watching isles try to pull this off) but most of the Mets ABs seemed to have a good approach. Can’t win em all.
WSH won’t be easy, but they are missing their two best arms which helps.

We almost had it, but you didn't put the game thread up!
;)
Onwards, and hopefully upwards this weekend -- Nats are surging a little after a really rough start. If we could win the 4 game series, it would be a really nice shovel of dirt on them. Lots of division games this week -- 12 in 9 days of play (Thursday off). Go 7-5 or better in them in life is good.
Oswalt clearly doesn't care to help the Mets and their SP needs... 3 runs allowed through 2 including 2 homers.
It is a gamble because he has struggled at AAA, albeit in some very hitter friendly ball parks since he is susceptible to the long ball, but Texas just cut Tyson Miller (who they picked up when Cubs cut him). I think he offers more potential than someone like Tarpley if he clears waivers. He only turns 26 at the end of July.

DeGrom threw his usual brief 10-pitch side session today and felt good, Luis Rojas said. “A very good day. We’re still approaching this day by day.”
Ill guess that Drury goes first but we'll see.
It doesn't make sense but Rojas indicated Almora will be up soon. Maybe he'll go back down for Nimmo.
Mason Williams is out of options, he'd have to be DFA'ed, and possibly claimed.
More and more I think Villar/Guillorme deserve the bulk of PT at 3b. JDD on the outside looking in. Would be nice to get an update on him or Nimmo...
Villar is our starting 3B for the rest of the year unless his offense goes in the tank. You cant take him out of the starting lineup for Davis.
And I like Davis. I'd probably even prefer him because he's younger and has more longterm upside.
But Villar is playing scratch D at 3B and giving us 15% over league average offense.
Cant take him out.
Oh well. Still love him for the bench.
You did!

My mistake.... I'm the stupid one.
The only options in the minors who appear to be pitching well are Megill and Josh Walker
