Having said that, it was a completely ridiculous thing to do by Pelech. That had no effect on the play. The only possible result there is a penalty. No positive.
Pelech was really bad in game 2 and just cost them dearly in game 3. They can’t survive him playing like this any longer. He has to get his head out of his ass in a hurry.
Especially about Pelech who I thought turned over the puck twice in game 2 which led to goals. His dumb penalty tonight led to a goal as well. He’s been brutally bad.
But I haven’t seen any other calls like in the tourney. It’s beyond ticky tack and the game is tied and the series is tied and it’s the Cup semis. No need for that call whatsoever. And I’m no Islanders fan btw. Just a horrible call.
Eberle and Beau chief among them. Both have gone quiet lately and that is tough to overcome. Barzal is handcuffed when he is not scoring and then you have Komarov on the other side doing zero game after game.
I am not sure why Zajac was out there again after two stupid penalties in the third period in game 2, coupled with nothing on the offensive end. They need to generate offense so they need to get Wahlstrom back in the lineup. Trotz likes using the third line for defensive matchups, but when the first two lines are not generating offense, you have to rethink if you win this series getting one or two goals a game.
Isles had a rough start but really carried the play the second half of the game. Team hasn’t caught any breaks in these game 3s at the coliseum in the playoffs.
Sets up a must win at the barn Saturday night. Maybe we can put Wahlstrom in for uncle Leo?

It was no where near the play, and had no possible impact on the play.
Having said that, why Pelech put himself in that position to possibly get a call like that is baffling. Tampa didn't make those kind of silly mistakes and it was the difference in the game.
Tough deflection off the rebound there on the first goal.

What were the Knicks fans doing?
Quote:
Singing the anthem. Great fan base. Much different from what Knick fans were doing during the anthems in the post season.

Was wondering the same thing. Weird statement.
Andy Greene pushed into the Lightning player, but yeah, Varlamov definitely got interfered with.

Down 2-1 is nothing new for this team. But winning this series will require another level of discipline and effort they haven’t reached yet.
