Not nearly as sad a a person signing a contract and then basically doing every thing g they can to sabotage their employer and fellow workers to get out of their responsibilities.
Only Lebron getting bounced is a better story.
Anyone who doesn't get why non Net fans are so happy is a moron
Knick fans starting threads that both mock the Nets for their free ride to championship and mock them for losing is absolutely embarrassing and cringeworthy to witness.
It's tough to lose like that. And we've all been there. But I simply can't stand that brand of team building. And now the Nets players are complaining about injuries in the post game press conference. A completely unlikable, disingenuous, soft, and manufactured "team" who, regardless of my Fandom, I'd root to lose all day, every day. Garbage.
If KD and Kylie had signed with the Knicks, you’d be licking their balls.
Wrong. As I stated above.
I'll leave the ball licking to you.
So many tears.
You are totally full of shit, a brick ton of shit. I remember the FA threads, and there wasn’t a single Knicks fan saying they wouldn’t take Kyrie if it meant getting KD. But hey, you’ve got another 4th place finish and first round exit staring at you next year, enjoy.
to hate. Kyrie and Harden are arguably two of the top 5 most unlikable players in the nba if not all of sports, and Durant does himself no favors with his Twitter bitchiness and of course joining a team coming off a 73 win season. Players earn the right to go wherever they want, I get that, but you’re not winning anybody ever by joining the best team ever followed by another almost guaranteed winner (even before Harden). Also, everyone saying that they were injured and they would have won with everyone healthy-of course they would have! But that is the main thing everyone said was wrong with this Frankenstein of a roster to begin with-they will never stay healthy, and they didn’t all season basically. It’s part of how you build a team, not “this one doesn’t count because we would have won if healthy” bs.
They represent everything almost everyone hates about the NBA-super team, the “load management” crap. Maybe next year they can play more than 10 games together? Don’t get your hopes up. Hopefully this season puts a damper on the “super team” era and we actually have teams that build their roster not with the goal of just attracting cherry pickers.
I didn’t mind the New Jersey Nets at all-I rooted for the Jason Kidd editions when they didn’t affect the Knicks. But the whole “Brook-lyn” thing is insufferable. It’s so phony. It’s a bunch of people saying “hey there’s a playoff game might as well go” instead of “I HAVE to be at this game ive waited 40 years for this!” It’s definitely Miami Heat esque.
And don’t forget Diva time when they basically got Atkinson fired before they hired Nash. Is there any doubt these crybabies would never play for someone like Thibs? If you’re not a longtime Net fan or a soulless bandwagon jumper, you are enjoying the fact that this team lost for so many reasons.
This was a wasted year for Nets. They went all in with the Harden trade, basically mortgaging their future for tjis year. Still shocked they included Jarrett Allen in that trade. Pressure was on to win int all this year, and to come up short of at least getting to the Conference Finals was a terrible loss
So many salty tears. So slippery. So many emotions and feelings. Wah. Good lord.
pretty sure that emotions peaked with your opening post, which was quite emotional, salty, childish (maybe even toddlerish)... maybe in your head though it was something else though
At the end of the day, they lost the series because of injuries to Irving and Harden. It's not like the team did not function well when those 3 were on the floor - just the opposite.
Injuries have defined pretty much the entire post-season this year. Anthony Davis, Kawhi Leonard, Harden, Irving, Conley and to lesser degrees Doncic, Embiid and LeBron (coming off his ankle injury).
I think this will further entrench load management during the regular season, which is frankly necessary given the way these guys play today.

Not my fault a super team shit itself. I think it's hilarious. All the hype. Right down the tubes.

You can add Jamal Murray to the list of casualties.

The problem with the injuries this year has been exacerbated by playing so late last year and so many games bunched up which led to less time to recuperate.
The problem with the Nets is that they lost a year and accomplished NOTHING in this year. While "nothing has changed" this year for them was a disaster.
mentioned that even with 2 decades of ineptitude, even with the Nets constructing a Super Team, even with both teams sitting home right now, that the Knicks still have more titles than the Nets? And way more Championship series appearances?
Some of the responses here make it seem like the Nets have actually ever had a taste of success.
all those Knick fans tripping over themselves to root for the Sixers against the Hawks and then potentially the Nets. How’d that work out? I thought the Sixers were a lock to beat the hated Hawks?
Also, regarding the “rivalry” argument. The Sixers are a Knicks rival too. I got so much shit when I admitted in a thread a few months ago that I’d root for the Nets over the Sixers. I’m really indifferent on the Nets.
Look at it this way: Sixer fans = Eagles fans; Nets fans = a good amount of Giant fans.

In the last 20 years the Nets won 4 division titles and 2 conference titles (w/ Kidd) and in total made the playoffs 12x. 7 of those 12 years advancing past first round. They aren't the Spurs and they have never had a big fanbase but they also haven't been a joke in a long time.
Also any history of the franchise should probably include the fact that w/ Dr. J they won 2 ABA championships but then had to literally sell as part of the NBA merger, which basically ruined the 80's. Not to mention the tragedy with Petrovic that ruined most of the 90's.
I'm not trying argue the historical franchise relevance of Knicks vs. Nets and I don't think any Net fans have in this thread or others - beyond defending the fact that Nets fans can exist and don't need live in a state of loathing because 3 super stars wanted to play here (2 of whom were free agents well within their rights and could have chosen the Knicks if they desired). I mean for all the crap Kyrie takes he's one of the few players who actually went out of his way to sign with the team he grew up following.
i am sorry if offended any Nets fan, it was all in good fun, this is what it is supposed to be, hrll yeah i am happy the znets lost, i am not going to apoloigize for it..

Jmo but the offensive thing is when people post stuff that's just provably false in the name of whatever their narrative (you didn't do that, many others did). Kind of like how non-Giant fans argued Eli Manning was a bad QB for basically his whole career and that the NYG won SB's despite him. Those types of arguments are just so intellectually malnourished.

Actually, the Nets and Knicks have the exact same amount of Titles and Championship appearances since the Nets have joined the NBA.

I agree but this was really just bad luck, not an indication that the execution or the idea itself was flawed. Still, they likely only have a 2-3 year window for this group to play at peak level.

Also, can point out that the Knicks' last league championship was a NBA title in 73.the Nets' last league title was an ABA title in 74.
But if you want to limit it to NBA titles, it's 0-0 since the the Nets joined.

Exactly. And as an NBA fan I’d much rather these guys be on the court in June, than February.

Hate to say it but the Nets were the last team to win a league title in New York. Actually the last 2 — ‘74 and ‘76 they were the “New York Nets” when they won the ABA title. And before anyone says the ABA doesn’t count or something, those final 3 years before the merger the ABA was actually winning more of the interleague games than the NBA. They weren’t just comparable in talent, they were arguably better by the time the 2 merged.

The event that torpedoed the Nets' entry into the NBA was being forced to pay the NBA $3.2 million to join the league, plus $4.8 million to the Knicks for invading their territory. That $8 million would be $37.8 million today. To get the cash, the Nets had to sell Doctor J to to Philly. Then when the team moved from Long Island to New Jersey after the '76 season, the Nets had to pay the Knicks another $4 million. So $8.8 million ($41.6 today) to the Knicks within 12 months. I wasn't even alive yet, but that pisses me off.
