If only deGrom could teach him how to get a couple more mph, he might not need a third pitch lol
The quality can wear a pitcher down now. Nice to see.
Age at MLB debut for deGrom: 25 years, 330 days
Just sayin’
Guillorme is a wiz with the glove.
Gross. Keep him in Syracuse.
LONK - ( New Window )
Hopefully that carries over!
Need Oswalt to keep it together for the next 3 innings

NEWS: This afternoon the Mets fired four clubhouse assistants and their long-time clubhouse chef. A team spokesman confirmed the firings and said, "We do not comment on personnel matters, except to confirm this had nothing to do with the WilmerHale culture review."
side note, can't say it enough. Jeremy Hefner has magical things here
And they grab a game against everyone except for Washington.
He talked about using "stuff" to aid his grip, I think he particularly mentioned pine tar. Also said he "grew up on it"...
For those pitchers out there....was I living in a bubble through the late 90s and 2000s as a HS/Club pitcher? Were people at that level using "stuff"? I never used ANYTHING. Not even rosin. I unfortunately had a HS Wrestling coach serving as my baseball coach so didn't learn much from him...he just pushed me out there for over half our teams innings and said "throw hard"..
I'm looking back regretful... throwing 85/86 as a 17 year old senior, I either struck guys out or hit em when things slipped. Now I'm sitting here wondering 'what if' again! haha
But really felt like that was a big win last night given the recent offensive struggles.
McNeil, with his aggression, seems to like leadoff. Any thought to keeping him there, having Nimmo hit two, Lindor 3. Alonso 4 and use Conforto to try and protect Alonso at 5?
I think I might try that. Pete has been getting a lot of offspeed off the plate and isn’t selective enough to make that work at this point.
I go Nimmo, Lindor, Conforto, Alonso, McNeil, Smith right now. You can switch around depending on who is hot.

Eno said he spoke to a "bunch" of pitchers and each and every one of them guessed extremely high numbers on how many pitchers used at least sunscreen. His guess based on his conversations was about 85%. Related... Eno Sarris is top notch. His content is great.
I'll take the Lindsey sucks side ...
I’d probably go
Nimmo
Lindor
McNeil
Alonso
Conforto
Villar
Dom
McCann
Conforto, Alonso, Villar, LG, McNeil, Nimmo all well over.
No offense to the Tovar’s, Perazas, and Drury’s... but thank God!
What are the chances he gets pushed to Sunday?
A guy can hope.
