NFT: Bucks vs. Suns NBA Finals

dpinzow : 7/3/2021 11:03 pm
Very impressive performances by the Bucks in Games 5 and 6 without Giannis to put away the Hawks. Suns will be favored especially with Giannis not 100%, but Middleton is now a full-fledged star after he won Game 6 of the ECF with that huge 3rd quarter

I think it'll be the Suns in 6 but I wouldn't count the Bucks out. I like this Finals matchup because it isn't the usual suspects

Phoenix isnt going to lose at home. It will probably be 2-2, but i dont give Bucks much chance to win in the valley regardless of what happens in Milwaukee

Milwaukee beat an almost unstoppable Kevin Durant in Brooklyn in a seventh game. If one of Giannis's running mates, Middleton or Holiday, has a big game, they can win in Phoenix

Kevin Durant playing with 4 ham n eggers. Phoenix is a whole lot better than that Brooklyn team they faced in game 7. Harden was immobile, Joe Harris couldnt throw the ball in the ocean, and the rest of the team sucks.

If Suns players get hurt like the Nets had injuries, they will win. Barring that I dont see them winning a game in Phoenix.

I think this ends in 6

Paul George and a bunch of ham and eggers won a game in the Western Conference Finals in Phoenix. The Suns have to figure out how to slow down Giannis or they're in more trouble than you think
That being said, if the Suns can assert their will in Game 4
dpinzow : 7/11/2021 10:33 pm : link
they'll win the series in 5. I'm interested to see what kinds of matchups the Suns are going to throw at Giannis, because they obviously can't let him keep on putting up 40+
Cam Johnson
MookGiants : 7/14/2021 11:19 pm : link
is a really good basketball player.
Jrue
MookGiants : 7/14/2021 11:20 pm : link
Holliday is playing like he has money on the Suns
the referee
MookGiants : 7/14/2021 11:21 pm : link
should lose his job for not calling that foul on Booker. Remarkably dumb play by Booker bailed out by a referee who has zero clue what the fuck is going on
I was just gonna say the refs have helped the Bucks
bceagle05 : 7/14/2021 11:22 pm : link
with Booker’s foul trouble, but they somehow miss an obvious sixth foul.
you cant be an NBA official
MookGiants : 7/14/2021 11:22 pm : link
and miss that foul on Booker. He was basically trying to wrap Holliday up to prevent a layup, and the referee just swallows his whistle.

He's clearly not capable of doing his job if he doesnt call that
I know Holliday
MookGiants : 7/14/2021 11:27 pm : link
has been an important piece for them, but he needs to stop shooting tonight
Giannis keeps passing after whistles
bceagle05 : 7/14/2021 11:28 pm : link
to avoid free throws. Actually a good idea.

That was Booker's 6th foul too, and he just committed a seventh and it wasn't called
We have

The Suns had almost everything go their way in this one
dpinzow : 7/14/2021 11:35 pm : link
a 40+ game from Booker, the refs fail to call an obvious 6th foul on Booker and they still got beat. Danger time for Phoenix
Mike Breen, as usual, was great on the call tonight.

bceagle05 : 7/14/2021 11:41 pm : link
Flopping all over the court all game and getting star whistles from the refs.
Chris Paul
Bricktop : 7/15/2021 12:04 am : link
can go ahead and stay in Phoenix.

And Jae Crowder is a giant flopping worn out labia. Holy shit.

And how did Booker have 8 fouls?

NBA is straight trash.

Everything go their way because Booker had 40? Besides Cam the rest of the team was terrible. And while he was lucky to not foul out his 5th foul call changed the game and it was a total flop by Tucker.

Phoenix isnt in “danger” time. Bucks havent even competed with them at home to this point and nothing that happened in Milwaukee leads me to believe that will change in game 5.

Bucks took care of business on their home floor, but its not danger time for the suns when they smoked them twice in the valley.

Chris Paul was absolutely awful in this game. As I said above Booker and Cam Johnson were only two suns who played well.
I give
MookGiants : 7/15/2021 12:22 am : link
Phoenix a much better chance to win a game 6 in Milwaukee than I do the Bucks winning in Phoenix.

Agree no interest in paying Chris Paul 120+ mill to age over the next
Stu11 : 7/15/2021 8:41 am : link
3 seasons. In fact especially if they win it all Phoenix should have the balls to say no too. He's so inconsistent at this point. He was awful last night. Also how does Monty Williams keep letting Booker be the one to rotate back on D for the fast breaks for the whole 4th quarter with 5 fouls? Ok they got bailed out once but after that he can't be the one to rotate back. You need someone who can give a foul there to prevent an easy basket.
it's really amazing
Osi Osi Osi OyOyOy : 7/15/2021 11:54 am : link
how well Giannis has played after that brutal looking injury. He's such an all-around stud. A true superstar. Middleton is really making a name for himself with some of these scoring performances, just a very smooth offensive player who can also defend.

That block by Giannis on Ayton was super nice, but I think it's getting a little overrated. It's not LeBron on Iggy or Hakeem on Starks, but it was definitely a classic moment that gives you a glimpse of the kind of athlete/competitor that Giannis is.

With a healthy Giannis, this is now a hell of a good series. I thought Suns would have the edge but that was if Giannis wasn't 100%. Still rooting for CP3 to get it done and I expect him to have a bigtime performance in Game 5.
that block was huge
UConn4523 : 7/15/2021 12:01 pm : link
especially since Ayton isn't giving up size like Igoudala and of course, Starks. Didn't really think on it historically too much but that stands out to me. Time also stands out, this was about a minute and change left and would have tied the game - it ended up being a 4 point swing.

LeBrons was better looking but Giannis' impacted the game more, IMO.
tbh
hitdog42 : 7/15/2021 1:41 pm : link
what doesnt get credit is the JR smith hustle to make iggy dip which allowed for the block. block doesnt happen on its own without JR.

Great play, but the pass from Booker was a LITTLE high too - credit Giannis and his freakish wingspan for causing that I guess, but Booker was a little casual with the lob.

Game 7 vs. Game 4. Both were with very little time and the score was tied in the Cavs-Warriors game vs. the Bucks being up. As impressive as Giannis' block was in showcasing his absurd length/mobility, I don't think it's really that close between the two in which was the better play. JR definitely did a great job with the effort but LeBron tracking that down the court and stuffing it was insane.

Hakeem on Starks might be my #1 though. It was a potentially series ending shot and Hakeem switched on a guard and shut that down.

Pretty damn crazy Middleton stat. He's been hot/cold in these playoffs, some really big games surrounded by mediocre ones. But it's insane how great he's been in the clutch. Him being such a strong halfcourt scorer when he's on makes him such a great fit next to Giannis.
...
SFGFNCGiantsFan : 7/15/2021 7:14 pm : link
I said before the series I was taking Phoenix in 7. Holding to that. I wonder what's up with CP3...is he injured? He looks awful last night. And I'd like to see him get a ring. I have no ill will towards Giannis & Milwaukee, but Giannis is what, 25? 26? He will have multiple chances in the future to get his ring. CP3 is nearing hole 18 in his superb career.
Bucks up 10
bceagle05 : 7/17/2021 10:54 pm : link
after three in Game 5. Jrue and Middleton both showing up. Quiet night for CP3.
I'm not sure
MookGiants : 7/17/2021 11:04 pm : link
anyone besides Cam Johnson and Booker even know they had 3 quarters left to play after the 1st quarter

Chris Paul has been absolute garbage. Maybe we wont have to hear how he's the greatest leader of all time anymore if they lose this series.

Milwaukee just outworking them tonight.

Phoenix more than capable of winning in Milwaukee but they wont if Chris Paul doesnt wake up.

They need to look for Cam Johnson offensively more. He's better than Crowder or Bridges
I want Phoenix to win because of Cam Johnson
MookGiants : 7/17/2021 11:06 pm : link
but don't dislike Milwaukee at all. Hope it goes seven.

That being said, why do people want Chris Paul to win so badly? He's an absolute jerkoff. It's like people all of a sudden forgot how much of an asshole he has been on the court over his career. I wouldn't be one bit upset if he lost this series and continued his career of never winning anything at the college or NBA level
Just bc he's a UNC grad
Bricktop : 7/17/2021 11:06 pm : link
Doesn't mean he's the difference in the series. Ron! Staaaaaaaaaaaap!

Booker needs the ball all the time when Holiday isn't checking him.

So much for it being impossible for the Bucks to win a game in Phoenix. I said earlier in this thread that Paul George and a bunch of role players won a Game 5 in Phoenix, so it was possible for Giannis and Middleton

MookGiants : 7/17/2021 11:37 pm : link
fouling on an alley oop, tell me again how he's the greatest leader of all time that has won absolutely nothing his entire career.

Suns are capable of winning a game 6, but they're going to need guys besides Booker to show up.

Holiday played the game of his life, he's no where near the kind of player he showed tonight, but he's also not anywhere near as bad as he was in game 4.

Ayton had decent stats, but played a poor game, particularly rebounding.
Happy for Giannis, and hope he finishes this off.
bceagle05 : 7/17/2021 11:37 pm : link
Booker dunked on him early and taunted him a bit, and from there Milwaukee whipped their ass the rest of the night. Not saying one thing led to another, but I was happy to see it.
Phoenix should have won this game in the first half
dpinzow : 7/17/2021 11:39 pm : link
They were up 16 after 1. They had Milwaukee down for the count. Then the Bucks make up the entire deficit with Giannis sitting on the bench in 5 minutes in the 2nd quarter

16 point lead after one is nada in today's NBA. But I agree, Milwaukee was on the canvas.

But they let em off the hook. They are who they thought they were. Might have to crown their ass.

NBA games always tighten up. No matter how much you're up in the first half no lead is ever safe. They certainly should not have blown the entire lead before half.

Milwaukee played a damn near perfect final 3 quarters.

Ayton and Paul need to play far better if they want even a chance to win in Milwaukee

That play by Giannis was borderline dirty, so I dont blame him taunting Giannis for it.

The only unlikable player on either team is Paul imo. Easy finals to watch otherwise. The Paul love fest has been sickening but i love watching the rest of the players in this series.
I've watched the games and have enjoyed the NBA so much
Stu11 : 7/18/2021 12:13 am : link
This season with the Knicks resurgence. However I've had a tough time with this series because to really get my juices flowing I need to either be rooting hard for or against one of the teams. I have no beef with either team. Giannis is such a likeable star, I love watching Ayton, Booker and Middleton too. These past few games I've really decided to pull for Giannis and the Bucks to win it though. This truly is their chance to get a ring and they really are easy to root for with their style. Booker and the Suns haven't paid their dues yet and will probably have other shots at it.
Paul has had his moments
UConn4523 : 7/18/2021 7:28 am : link
but I like him and plenty of others do too. He’s one of the best PGs of my time and dealt with very shitty teams early in his career so watching him on a contender is fun.

Plenty of dirtier players and he isn’t out there like Vontaze Burfict, it’s really overblown.
Awesome game, awesome series so far
