Does anyone remember the last injury free season

where we lost virtually no one of importance for the entire season outside of a game or two.
In general, I don't think an injury free season is something

that really exists in the NFL. Last year was actually a pretty healthy season for the team as a whole. The fact that Barkley missed almost the entire season sticks out, but it's rare for any team to have their starting RB go 16 games.

For 2 games, and significantly hampered by injury in 2 others.
2007, the only major injury I remember was Shockey

Steve Smith missed a big chunk of the season, but he was healthy for the playoffs.

An extra game and and extra week of practices will generate

1/17 or about 6 percent more injuries. I think teams will rest players more and especially in games that are out of reach. Teams will avoid OT games.

If a team that is down by 7 points with a few seconds remaining in the game scores a TD, they will go for the two point win rather than kick the extra point for a tie and overtime.

Bingo. Was the last time (and only since at least 2000) where we finished in the top 5 of overall team health.

I'm aware of the injury factor, the number of IRs, which is a cancer, let's face it. It's something that has to be corrected.

It's a mental thing, I believe, as much as anything else.

If I could have bet on who would be the one to pick it up, I'd have laid heavy money on you, my friend. 😂

He's the only BBI member with a single-digit Social Security number.
2007 was minimal, IIRC

Ward was injured but Bradshaw stepped in anyway

Shockey broke his leg late in the season but Boss stepped in.

And Kiwanuka missed a majority of the season but did not have a huge role at that point. Also likely created more opportunity for Tuck.

I guess the theme here...guys getting injured is inevitable, but having guys who can step in without missing a beat is what will make you a great team
