As we await the Kraken's selections tomorrow in the NHL expansion draft, with free agency to begin July 28 (all on pjcas' thread below), another Rangers' note, nice to see. I'm not familiar with the Czech guys Andy& Rono @HockeyStatsCZ (twtr handle) who created this analytics based assessment, but it rates KK as the NHL's second best defensive forward: https://twitter.com/HockeyStatsCZ/status/1417225547910991876

I’ll always remember what I read or heard about judging young hockey players. If the young guy drafted has a lot of talent, checks off enough of the skillset boxes, so to speak, what you want to look for early on is if that player is doing the dirty work. How are they handling themselves in the corners and what not. Kakko sure looks like he’s willing to do the dirty work and we know he has the talent. I look for him to really come on these next two years. 19-20 is so young for the NHL.

You have to be patient because of his age. I am an Avalanche fan - all anyone needs to do when looking at top level talent is look at Nathan McKinnon and his 1st 4 years in t he NHL at ages 18-21. The Avs stuck with him and he has been a top 5 player the last 4 years

You can’t teach quick hands and he posses top level Hockey IQ

You stay the course and keep him as a building block.

I think Kakko is a good bet to improve on the offensive end. It's
