I find it hard to have a problem with dumping his ass
Yeah totally. No reason to believe in an abbreviated Covid year and pandemic that he would return to form.
He fell apart in 2019. He pitched like shit all of last year. Why would you think he would get better at age 35? I was absolutely glad they dumped him, without any reservation at all.
Yes. Because the current iteration of the bullpen couldn't use him, right? Nelson, Wilson, etc. Just Fucking stellar.
Regardless, this bullpen is a shitshow for a variety of reasons to include signings, poor evaluation, Covid, injuries and more.
He sucks, period. He is just like the people you mentioned. He fell apart when he was needed in 2019. He never put it together at all last year. Why would they trust him to come back this year and be good.
a left handed hitter against a right handed pitcher for a guy like Gittens who can't hit major league pitching and is a right handed hitter then Wade needs to be DFA'd. If he can't hit in that spot over Gittens he shouldn't be on the roster

this is fake baseball and i'd have preferred we go all in to win. If you are running on contact then better to have someone who is more likely to make contact. Hell even Brantly may have been a better option.
RE: Seriously this is worse than little league baseball
and make the batter swing with the barrel end if they’re going to continue with this fucking clown show garbage.
This is almost as bad as the penalty kicks to decide soccer games, where it all comes down to the goalie guessing which side to dive to. Instead of this ridiculous idea of starting the inning with a runner on 2B, they should go one better than soccer and have it decided by a hot dog-eating contest between the guy on each team who made the last out in the 9th inning.
Scoring should be a little more refined. It should be a NH at best
.
They had 4 walks and another Torres error in the 8th...
and won the game. That BP is a bit of a mess at this time.
I am not sure I have seen a reliever quite like Britton,
as Coney said, he really does need reps...with that movement.
Two of the walks were by Nelson, not a fan of the guy.
He can't handle pressure situations to me.

It sounds like the idea is going to be short-lived...
stay tuned on that.

Britton does need reps and with a three run lead you figure now is the time...
Nelson, he is such a slow starter - always seems to need 12 pitches to get some control. But IIRC he got squeezed on what should have been strike three to one batter.
I am also referring back to last year as well.
I recall about a half dozen times in so-called
'pressure situations' that he has failed.
Even if he got squeezed a bit, that is a trend.
He needs to be used in low leverage situations to me.
I don't have a problem with a salary dump of an Ottavino.
Here's where they missed the boat to me, on Whitlock!
You protect Nelson and Kriske, and not Whitlock.
That kid is most likely going to be a starter in a
couple years for the Sox, have seen him quite often
this year.

You do remember correctly because I said the same thing. I believe it was a pitch early in the Williams at bat who he ended up giving up the 2 run hit to. A FB on the outside corner, which was a MUCH better pitch than the one he rung DJL up on the half inning prior.
on how Whitlock slipped through the system. Watch him pitch and you know he is legit.
His numbers in the minors weren’t really anything special and, he was a rule 5 pick by the Sox last year. You can’t protect everyone. It happens. Hell, Johan Santana was a rule 5 pick.

That was it..that was the pitch that the ump called sometimes and other times did not. And yes it was a better pitch than DJLM got punched out on. It was weird the way that bottom zone was called last night.
A successful steal gets him to 3rd if Allen grounds out and opens up another avenue for a run.
I really don't understand Poon.

You are not wrong
Nail salon. 25 dolla.
*golf clap*
Any reason we think Odor had to face a lefty there?
That’s as bad as it gets in base running. Now up to Sanchez to bail Lemahiue and Nevin out
Fucking Christ.

Woo is coming in to hit? and who is playing 2nd base?

Lamarre hits. If we don't win, Brantly takes 1B and DJ slides to 2B.

Sorry - Brantly plays 3rd. He's very likely got a hidden talent for the hot corner. The analytics gods are speaking here.
I mean the level of play in this game tonight. Not the runner on 2nd thing that's a stand alone shit show.
Great job by a bunch of pencil neck accountants. Thanks a lot.

He is a catcher...not sure 3rd is in his repertoire
Hmmm
Lamarre. Just sayin.
