is either going to help now or he should be moved. No reason to wait with the many talented OFers that are going to creep up in 2022-2023.
He looked ready enough tonight.
Moved when his trade value has plummeted? That would be rather silly. He's too talented to move when his value is low, better off holding on to him until he stays healthy and hits consistently
If he stays healthy and hits, why would they move him?
it was refreshing watching those kids play. ACTUAL BASERUNNING
expect him to set the world on fire, but better him than the corpse of Gardner. Allen can have LF to himself as far as I’m concerned, he provides energy and speed which have been lacking around here.
We needed the kids to come up to give a boost of energy, I don’t know what took them so long. Also perplexed why these organizational types are getting time ahead of actual prospects, Allen aside, our analytics dept blows.
In related prospect news, the guys to watch on the farm had a tremendous night last night:
AAA:
SP Deivi Garcia: 6.0 IP, 6H, 3R, 2BB, 9K
C Donny Sands: 2-5, R, 2B, HR, 4 RBI- Not much of a prospect, but recently promoted and a solid game
High A:
SS Anthony Volpe: 3-6, 4R, 2 2B, RBI, BB
2B Ezequel Duran: 3-5, 3R, 3B, 2HR, 6RBI, BB
C Josh Breaux: 2-4, HR, 2RBI, BB
CF Pablo Olivares: 3-5, 2B, 2RBI
Low A:
CF Jasson Dominguez: 1-5, K
DH Everson Pereira: 3-5, R, HR, 2RBI, 2K (up to .436 with Tampa)
In the FCL, a pair of our highly regarded 19 year olds had a day:
Game 1:
SS Alexander Vargas: 1-2, K, SB
Game 2:
SS Alexander Vargas: 2-5, R, 2B, 3B, RBI, 2K (up to .327/.400/.490 in 54 PA)
CF Kevin Alcantara: 2-4, 3R, HR, 2RBI, BB, 2K (up to .353/.476/.588 in 21 PA)

What's going to happen when the COVID guys come back?
I hope not. At least one should stick. Andujar, for example is not a COVID scratch. He's hurt. In the OF, only Judge is in that category. If Andujar is still hurt (and even if he's healthy) these guys could be LF and CF down the stretch if they play decent. The sad part is, it won't be difficult to play well enough to unseat Gardner and Andujar everyday.
I know it's a dead horse already, but Stanton really needs to put out there also. Especially with Judge out, he should at least be in RF. This is thinking WAY ahead, but what happens if they actually make it to the WS? They either don't play their most expensive hitter when in the NL park or he plays his first game(s) of the year in the field in the most important game(s) of the year?
He was not a bad OF in Miami. They designated him as an everyday DH well before any injuries surface. This year he slimmed down and supposedly added flexibility. Let him dust off the glove and see what we've got. We need more flexibility with the lineup and DH spot.

Why hasn't Garcia been called up? Why was he starting in AAA and Asher Wojciechowski, for example, expected to start tonight in the bigs? Among other things, the Yankees handling of their callups and prospects this year has been very puzzling to me.

And that was coming from someone who is not a huge Garcia fan. I fear he might be a AAAA pitcher. But, I'd rather have him up and starting than some of these other guys as the 5th starter/opener.

Until last night, Garcia has been dreadful at AAA. He’s got some things to work on
agree with you Jim in Hoboken about Florial. Let the kid play. At
like they updated each team's board including the new draft picks. Also looks like some overall rankings got shuffled around a bit, Yanks place 8 players in their top 125 prospects at this time.
#52- SS Oswald Peraza (AA)
#63- SP Luis Medina (AA)
#79- SS Alexander Vargas (FCL)
#90- SP Deivi Garcia (AAA)
#100- SS Anthony Volpe (High A)
#104- CF Jasson Dominguez (Low A)
#120- CF Kevin Alcantara (FCL)
#122- 2B Ezequiel Duran (High A)
As has been the case recently, lot of lower minors guys with tremendous upside, but a fair share of risk. These guys being the top 8 rated in the organization obviously, recent draft picks and their new organizational ranking:
The Rangers are scouting the Yankees, High-A Hudson Valley affiliate. Maybe just the normal scouting that goes on, or maybe they are possibly considering trading Joey Gallo to the Yanks. SBNation - ( New Window )
of Stanton's caliber look at more pitches down the middle, ever. He misses a hanging spinner, looks at a 93 in his zone, then looks at 95 mph belt high straight FB in the middle of the plate.
Stomach virus.

Eh, I don’t thinks so. If you look at the replay, it’s pretty clear by Howard’s expression and body language he didn’t mean to.

He threw it right at him. Cone agreed. It was clearly a retaliation pitch.
Not in Realmuto's eyes or the team's. But it was stupid because Woj's was just a bad pitch by a bad pitcher and it exposed him to Stanton with 2 on...
That was a pretty decent AB by Florial despite the K.
There was absolutely no reason that replay took that long - that was as definitive a video as one could ask for...
