I am not sure people expected to see these dollars so quickly. And it certainly cements the notion that only a handful of schools will ever win the title.
What happens with transfers? I assume a star can transfer and reestablish more deals at his new school.

Although I do wonder if one of the unintended consequences might be players becoming less interested in school work; and eligibility becomes an issue when you are pocketing these big dollars...
But now, playing at Duke will come with immediate financial incentives because the national attention will make the student athlete more likely to have social media influence and therefore gain larger NIL opportunities.
Colleges have argued that their brand recognition, and the infrastructure they created and invested in, and the media partnerships they have, offer value to the athletes in terms of showcasing talent and marketing themselves for future endeavors. Now will be a chance to see if that bears out in the marketplace.
I would hope it keeps kids in school
Agree. Never underestimate how much money will come in from thirsty, loser males.
'Dunne joined the social media platform TikTok in 2020. Initially she posted videos of her gymnastics but later started posting videos of other areas of her life as well. As of July 2021, Dunne had amassed over 4 million subscribers on TikTok and over 1 million followers on Instagram, giving her one of the largest platforms for an NCAA athlete.
On July 1, 2021, the NCAA changed its rule to allow its athletes to earn money from their name, image, and likeness. Dunne was projected to earn more compensation than any other collegiate athlete due to her large social media platform, which was a combined five million followers across both Instagram and TikTok at the time the law change took effect.'
Yeah, she's going to make a nice coin.
A lot of local money available.
If they can make a couple hundred thousand in college is life changing.
Hope I am wrong.

I was wondering the same thing. Of course the SEC schools are going to perform well here, but I imagine just about any school in a major market and/or with wealthy alumni will be able to compete on dollars. There is no "salary cap" so we could see some odd universities all of a sudden being competitive.
It will...no doubt in my mind.
