"The Mets announced on Wednesday afternoon that outfielder Billy McKinney was traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers in exchange for minor league outfielder Carlos Rincon.
The 23-year-old Rincon has played 63 games for Double-A Tulsa this season, slashing .263/.343/.470 with 12 home runs, 48 RBI and 33 runs scored. He was originally signed by the Dodgers in 2015 and has spent his entire career in their farm system.
Rincon will report to Double-A Binghamton."

St. Louis selected Ramírez to the big league roster last month. He made one appearance before being optioned out, giving him two combined big league outings in as many seasons. Ramírez has otherwise the spent the year with Triple-A Memphis, where he’s tossed 29 relief innings across 20 games. Ramírez compiled a 4.34 ERA with strong strikeout and walk rates (27.8% and 7.0%, respectively) for the Redbirds"
At least I want to believe that.
Having grown up in Rochester, I can tell you that filling out minor league rosters and fielding a competitive team certainly matters to the affiliate. If the parent club puts a lousy team on the field in Syracuse, Binghampton and Brooklyn, that hurts MiLB revenue and defeats the marketing advantage of having the affiliates in the Mets' larger fan region.
