Is a real easy guy to root for, Bucs did it old fashion way, hope it catches on, this insta-super teams era is a turn off for me
Free Agency
Csonka : 7/22/2021 9:01 am : link
It's cool that the Bucks won for a change, but the consensus hatred of free agency is over the top. I don't feel a player should have to stay forever with the team that picked him. At some point I'd want to choose where I live and play.

I m assuming your “over the top” comment was sparked by my post.

I can only rely that:

It is possible to agree with your pt is while at the same time admitting it has taken something away from the game on a personal level.
its funny this last offseason it was as if
Platos : 7/22/2021 9:25 am : link
the "super teams" broke up and there was a lot of 2 star teams. then the nets did what they did which seemed cartoonish at some point.

i'm glad they lost by KD's big toe.
Lew Alcindor

before he became Kareem. Don't forget the "Big O' as well.
By that time Oscar was an older player, but helped lead
a young Alcindor and the Bucks back in '71.
The Big O was one of my idols as a kid.
I guess cuz I was a guard in the way back machine...
It’s the year

is the dirty play where giannis took out kyrie's ankle, no way they win that series if he's healthy

Why is this now referred to as a "dirty play?" People who have played basketball or haven't but have watched any amount of it know that on defense, you "close out" after a shot. Sometimes, the shooter comes down on an ankle or top of a foot. And sometimes, they just come down awkwardly without any contact. This has happened for decades at all levels of ball. Can it be intentional? Dirty? Sure. But let's have a show of hands for those who believe Giannis is a "dirty" player.
The bucks are easy to root for
larryflower37 : 7/22/2021 12:48 pm : link
A lot of players that were drafted in the 2nd or FA that had to battle to get here.
Bobby Portis- 4 teams in 8 years
Pat Connaughton-2nd round
Khris Middleton-2nd round
P.J.Tucker-2nd round
Most of the team is non-lottery picks(late first round picks) and it goes against the super teams and I know its a weird season with very little time off but still it was built the right way.
I don't think Giannis is a dirty player,
BigBlueNH : 7/22/2021 2:54 pm : link
but the play where he took out Kyrie was a dirty play. Perhaps not intentionally so, but he moved a long way from where he was when Kyrie went up for his shot, to directly under the only place Kyrie had to land.

Thank you. I love how you and BigBlueNH are whining about The Nets getting dumped that you both feel a need to bitch about the play. You don't know how happy I am knowing you want to whine. Thank you - both.

Oh please save it.
I can’t speak for all nets fans
djm : 7/23/2021 10:58 am : link
But the few I’ve heard, Evan Roberts on Wfan for one, really came off as childish and weird. Evan can’t go 30 seconds without screaming on and on how the bucks didn’t win the title, the nets just lost the title. Shut up already. Since when is every team guaranteed good health? We can all go back and talk about bad luck or injury luck and cry about a particular team not being fortunate, but the poor poor nets are a special exception? No they aren’t. They were whipped together in a frenzy and 2-3 of the stars brought in are injury prone, one couldn’t even walk when he was signed.

Get over yourselves. You might not win it next year either. Nothing is guaranteed especially Irving and Durant staying healthy. Bucks were better. Fucking take it like a man.
Dirty?
Csonka : 7/23/2021 2:30 pm : link
Come on. Even in slow motion you can see there's no way Giannis had intent there. He went in to get a rebound. Unfortunate for Kyrie but in no way dirty.

Evan gets really petty and immature about stuff like that. I mean, it's not like Kyrie has been a durbable player throughout his career. How many times has he played a full season start to finish including playoffs?

I like Roberts but that is a pathetic take. Injuries happen.
Evan is like a 2 year old kid when it comes to his teams
giantstock : 7/23/2021 8:13 pm : link
And he won't ever give the Knicks or Giants a remotely fair shake. Sometimes he tries to pretend like he's "above-it-all" but he's just like an immature kid.

But with that said- he still can be fun listen-to.

But- adding him with Carton-- I rarely listen.
I like Roberts too
djm : 7/26/2021 12:36 pm : link
but that was weak. I hate when fans begrudge another winner because their team got besieged with injury. Bucks deserved everything they got and leave it at that.
