NGT: WR Michael Thomas to miss significant time

Giants in 07 : 7/23/2021 11:35 am
Ian Rapoport
@RapSheet
Sources: #Saints star WR Michael Thomas is expected to miss the start of the 2021 season after undergoing surgery to repair the ligaments in his ankle in June. Based on the timing of the surgery – and recommended 4 months of recovery – Thomas could be on the sideline for weeks.

We get the Saints in Week 4, the first weekend in October. Looks like Thomas may miss that game or just be coming back.

With Jameis at the helm and the Saints low on offensive talent, that would be a big game for the Giants to win early on and it seems doable.
Just to drive down that point..

#Saints lost Drew Brees, Trey Hendrickson, Sheldon Rankins, Emmanuel Sanders, Janoris Jenkins, Jared Cook, Thomas Morstead.

Michael Thomas will miss the start of the season. David Onyemata is suspended 6 games, & Marshon Lattimore could also be suspended from his March arrest.
Just another team sans Brees,

still may be a tough game

in the Superdome. They usually don't play well there.

Agreed. And, don’t get me wrong they’re all tough. I just fear them much less, that’s all.
Was always looking at that game as potentially winnable

Given what that roster might look like, I’d be pretty upset if the NYG lose that one.
Giants have played at the Saints 5 times this century

they have won 1 time. I think I still have PTSD from attending the Joe Horn cell phone game in person
I understand the concerns
Giants in 07 : 7/23/2021 11:59 am : link
We did score 49 in the dome and lose.

I do agree it is obviously good for the Giants chances that Brees has moved on, and Thomas is out. Just never marking this one as a W until it's over.

They were 8-1 without Brees the last two seasons. You could make the argument he was holding them back. That team is still pretty stacked, but they had to start eating the cap sooner or later.

Understood and quite possible, but I’m still quite relieved. 😎
If the Giants can't beat this crappy Saints team

It's going to be a long painful year...

Only good part was me and my buddy got front row seats for much of the second half as the crowd thinned out pretty quickly. That was neat to watch football that closely for the first time, though the game itself was terrible for us
who's been the better value in contract #2?
UConn4523 : 7/23/2021 2:06 pm : link
Kamara or Thomas?

For all the complaining about RB contracts i'd be more concerned with WRs who make $20m per year.

Think they still have a solid defense and a great OL.

Bingo. SP learned well from Parcells in building and maintaining a very good OL particularly on the interior.
