I write to suggest that everyone go to their primary care physician for an annual examination and to insist that a CT scan is performed each time you go.
This year my annual CT scan revealed a nodule growing in my lower lung. A follow up CT scan six months later showed that it had grown. Soon thereafter I had a PET scan which revealed that the nodule is not malignant, so we will just keep an eye on it.
The moral of the story, and the reason I am posting about this, is that without the yearly CT scan I would never have known the nodule was there and if it were malignant i'd probably have found out about it way too late.
So please, get a physical exam each year and tell your doctor that you want a torso CT scan.
It could save your life.
But annual CT scans are not risk free and are not recommended for the population at large.

Yes. Your right. Thanks for pointing that out.
I wouldn't get one unless absolutely necessary.
In some cases and MRI can be used instead depending on body location
