Joe Judge said they might occasionally flex Nick Gates from center to guard. #Giants
Hmm...what a good idea.
Here's a better one...work on finding a better Center (or same) as Gates in the next year, and move him to Guard permanently.
I think that may be something they strongly consider. We will have to see who they have getting center reps in camp but they may well have someone in mind. The fact of WH moving to RG might indicate they want him to step up or step out.

Why not just find a better guard and leave him at center permanently?
The context of judges quote was to prepare for injuries or less than ideal circumstances. Always a good thing to prepare. What if 2 guards go down, and the best lineup would be Harrison and gates both starting on the line.

Always an option, but just my preference and view that Gates may have a higher ceiling at Guard than Center.
While he deserves lots of credit of filling a void at Center when the front office was a bit careless/clueless in a strategy there, I am not one who thinks that Center shouldn't still be upgraded from Gates.

It seems Benjamin was caught stealing food from the cafe and bringing it home. Judge and Gettleman was having a convo with him about it and Benjamin got pissed and stormed off. Can’t make this up.

One, if he was stealing lunches they wouldn't have let him come in the morning and get dressed. Two, the Giants probably encourage players to take food home so they know they are eating well. Three, the ongoing joke is he ate himself out of the league.

Maybe he did steal food but hid it in his stomach?

Maybe it is a bogus story, but on the second point - the problem in the scenario is the stealing, not the taking it home.

Stealing is fine as long as the food value is under $1000.oo
upgrade in the NFL than the Giants going from Tate to Golladay at #1 WR?
Kind of like going from Tim Carter (and whoever else) to Plaxico. Toomer was still there from 04-05. This team still has Slayton and Shepard and newcomer Toney. Shockey > Engram but all in all, big upgrades.

Takeaways from today's ramp-up @Giants practice: Love & Jackson made the most plays; Slayton & Golladay had a few nice catches; and Harper had the play of the day on a late INT. Also, Benjamin left practice early and his body language showed frustration - perhaps he won't return.

I doubt they cut him because of that. They cut him because he was agitated and stormed off the field during practice.
I believe the whole food-stealing deal is a reference to Booger McFarland saying last year that Benjamin "is a popeyes biscuit away from being a TE

I'm pretty sure he had his own ideas on how the OL should be coached.
