Cowboys training camp report after 1 week

Rick in Dallas : 7/28/2021 8:31 am
Dak Prescott has been sensational in training camp.Their are no restrictions on his play and so far he shows no lingering effects from his serious ankle injury.
I can't stand the Cowboys but I do like Dak and think he is one of the better QB's in the NFL. To think he was a fourth round pick( they wanted to draft Paxton Lynch) by the Cowboys drives me crazy.
How can one be sensational at

this point in training camp? I’m asking seriously with no smarm intended
Yeah I think DAL will be competitive this year for sure
Jim in Forest Hills : 7/28/2021 9:04 am : link
Man Lynch and Manziel, what could have been in DAL.

Just a hype train I'd guess. Need to get the fans ready to spend their money.
We'll hear a lot of...
"best shape ever!"
"focused and healthy"
"game has slowed down"
"galvanizing" ...in whatever context

all that crap

First thing that popped into my head. If by sensational, the dude is healthy...good for him and Dallas.

Also, fuck the cowboys.
I also heard Dak has been tremendous at camp thus far.

I'm not buying into anything until we see him swivel his hips in warmups. That's the true measure on if he's incredible or not!
Just reporting what I hear from Dallas sportscasters
Rick in Dallas : 7/28/2021 9:38 am : link
Don’t shoot the messenger… haha

On a serious note: Dak’s ankle injury was no joke and his recovery with no physical limitations is great news for Dak and the Cowboys.
No doubt he is the leader of that team.
So he is throwing against a Dallas defense
Peter from NH (formerly CT) : 7/28/2021 9:40 am : link
which was

(1) awful last year,
(2) with no pass rush (probably the best part of their defense last year),
(3) wearing a red jersey.

Great. I'm convinced.
Hips don't lie..

When did Cowboys camp open?
rnargi : 7/28/2021 9:44 am : link
I thought camps opened yesterday?
They..
FatMan in Charlotte : 7/28/2021 9:45 am : link
started practicing on the 24th
I like Dak as well
DavidinBMNY : 7/28/2021 9:48 am : link
Glad he's doing well. Most of the other Cowboys I hate and let's just beat them. At some point to be good we have to stop fearing the opposition and start respecting what they do but have confidence in what we do. Maybe sometime this year, that will kick in.

On the other hand, if they had drafted either of those two, they could have ended up being in a position to draft Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, Joe Burrow, Justin Herbert or Trevor Lawrence.
It's real..
FatMan in Charlotte : 7/28/2021 9:54 am : link
seemed like every week Fox would go out of their way to show him doing that and then they'd all marvel at it.
I've never seen Dak
Bill in UT : 7/28/2021 10:10 am : link
as a top-tier QB. Just saying.
And what has Dak done for them ?
JoeMorrison40 : 7/28/2021 10:17 am : link
Nada, no trophies or rings. He hasn't proven a champion.

Wherever he’s ranked, he’s made a believer out of me. I think he’s solid. We’ll see of course, how far he’s come back from surgery.

I'm hoping to hear these things about Saquon! And for them to actually be true:)
Dak and Dallas

will need that OL to perform well. If they do then that offense will score a lot of points. Good thing is the Giants recognized this and have filled out the defense accordingly. The two games against them are going to require us to score some points though.

So already conflicting reports. Some say sensational, some are saying tremendous. Which is it? This is why you can't trust training camp reports.
I heard Dak looks
Jimmy Googs : 7/28/2021 11:47 am : link
terrific...
I think CeeDee Lamb will be the WR1 over Cooper
90.Cal : 7/28/2021 11:54 am : link
Before the end of the year. Have seen a few highlight reel plays from Lamb in camp already. He is going to be a Dez Bryant type of X-Factor player for them for years... good thing we are deep in the secondary... I think we are one of the few teams in football that matches up nicely agaisnt the Dallas offense.

I wonder
Giantsfan79 : 7/28/2021 1:09 pm : link
what Joe Judge does to the first beat writer who describes Daniel Jones play as sensational?

Aren't descriptions of player performances on the list of off limits topics for the writers?

No worries there. According to a couple "outside thinkers", Jones will be lucky to not royally suck and be the worst QB in the league.

Do people even bother to read these “outside thinkers” any longer?
Look , Jerry Jones and the Cowboys are all about publicity
Rick in Dallas : 7/28/2021 2:12 pm : link
Nothing has ever changed in that regard. Why get all riled up about Cowboy training camp reports by Beat Writers who follow them.
This makes money for the Jones family in team sales across the country.
Heard he had a problem
Giant John : 7/28/2021 5:23 pm : link
Today with a sore throwing arm?
Yep.. Dak left practice with a sore throwing arm
