its right up there with horror for movies that I think are the most difficult to do well. I'm a dark comedy guy mainly, so the slapstick stuff I usually turn off immediately. I can do Rom Coms on occasion, typically that depends on the chemistry of the leads and, admittedly, how hot the co-star is.
The indie stuff has been pretty good though. Booksmart, Lady Bird, Dope, The Big Sick, etc.
Stuff I didn't think would be good but was - Game Night and Tag, and Spy.
If you haven't seen it, Grand Budapest Hotel is on my all time list, comedy or otherwise.
I enjoyed the Break Up, and it's got some very funny moments.
It's not a terribly happy movie though. If you're looking for "comic relief" to distract from some sadness/stress or etc that you're going through, that one might not take you where you want to go when it's said and done.
is "The Marvelous Mrs.Maisel". Great cast and acting, and hilarious. Highly recommend a binge of the three seasons currently available. Better than any movie you may watch, IMHO.

Good Point. Mom's in the hospital so looking for something light.
The ratings systems on IMDB and Rotten Tomatos are absurd.
Way off track.

They are absurd but RT is useful if you look at it the right way. Rotten Tomatoes is a yay or nay site so if a movie has a 90% that doesn’t mean that people rate it a 90 out of 100 on average, it means that 9 of 10 people say it’s “fresh” as in worth seeing / not rotten.
Metacritic is more “accurate”, but still only useful if you understand what goes into the scores.

I think we can all agree on what is stood action, mystery, drama, etc…
But a comedy - that’s a whole different story.

LOL
UConn makes some good suggestions.
Other comedic suggestions:
The Death of Stalin currently on Netflix
Palm Springs currently on Hulu.
BTW - I've been wanting to re watch Young Frankenstein, but can't find it anywhere.
Fios
Netflix
Apple TV
