By Jordan Raanan on Breaking Big Blue podcast. Some really surprising and insightful stuff, including that Abrams hasn’t managed the cap in years.
I am not always a Raanan fan, but great episode. Learned a lot about Giant operations that conflicts with some of the narrative.

He said it's Ed Triggs.
I seem to enjoy his podcast and radio interviews more than his articles, but he has definitely moved in a good direction.

Agree, I've been critical of his writing in the past, but I think he's at times felt compelled to push out clickbait. But he knows his football, and his podcast is really good, with quality guests
I thought he would get the GM gig after Reese was fired.
He's being quite selfless in that discussion. He still has oversight of the cap and like a good manager defers to the talents of the team members to give them praise. That was a very good listen.
Agreed. My only complaint is that Jordan interrupts his guest a lot, seemingly when they're about to give information that I'd like to hear (very much like Francesa). Otherwise, his podcast is at the top of my list, tied with Giants Insider.

It's a shame he didn't get the chance instead of DG. Much bigger chance we turned to more innovation with Abrams at the helm I think.
It makes sense to me that Abrams will be GM, Pettit will run all scouting, and O’Brien was brought in as an outside voice with familiarity with the Pats program.
Obviously the team needs to win and show promise for all of this to work.
Jones is the important guy though. How anyone could be confident that there is a fair assessment made on Jones' future by DG or Abrams in the event of a mediocre or worse season I do not know. But it's certainly a frightening prospect for me.
However, I'd be similarly encouraged even if we got another year of DG or Abrams and they moved on a new starting QB for next year to at least compete with Jones.
In a way you can look at how this Jones thing is handled as a big litmus test. Even the biggest Giants supporters frequently point to hanging on to Eli for too long as the thing that has really held back this rebuild. Given the opportunity to make a tough decision on a QB how much will they have shown to learn their lesson?
Good link.
If Raanan's friends are reading this I still think he became a clickbaiting shit-stirrer upon his arrival at the four letter network.
I don’t think Abrams will be denied a GM position the next time he interviews. I guess the question now is if he’ll wait another year if Getty remains. My sense (which is admittedly worth zero) is that the Giants want KA to take over next year or the following year.
Also, I think Jordan Ranaan seems pretty likable on his podcast. The only advice I would have for him would be to stay quite and let his guests ramble on more. You can always clean that stuff up in post production. But yeah, I like his podcast and don’t think he seems douchey at all. Seems like a pretty regular dude and actually seems pretty self effacing and humble tbh.
The time to do it was before we had this ongoing suckfest of a team.

I don’t disagree. I know Lombardi says about the Giants that they need a complete tear down and rebuild. But, on the other hand, we don’t know if KA might have a different philosophy.
