The current rumors are still the same. Knicks are trying to trade up. They are willing to part with both firsts. Their supposed targets are Davion Mitchell or Chris Duarte. I feel like a lot of rumors are started with agents using the Knicks as pawns because they have both draft picks and cap space so take a lot of these rumors with a grain of salt. Last year nobody saw the moves coming with respect to trades or us picking Quickley. So, sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride.
Best and most sensible trade of the night

Dave Gettleman moonlighting for the Knicks?
this is the best trade of the night lol
It is, but the number of trades is just crazy.
they are saving money for something
The draft and stash is a point guard
Yup. They're basically punting the entire draft for FA.
I think many pundits thought Deuce was a better and higher rated prospect than Grimes
Same here, and I wanted Grimes at #32. Those two, plus a Euro stash, extra cap space and a couple of assets down the road makes for a productive night.

I would have been fine taking him at 21

Agreed. Was all unexpected and a real whirlwind, but the Knicks did well. Two basically guaranteed role players and a draft and stash with upside.
Ultimately I don’t think it matters all that much. The most likely scenario is that they trade that pick in a bigger deal in the next two years anyways.
Haha, we discussed this like a week ago, right? Undersized, poor defender, short arm length and a bad shooter. For all his positives, those guys usually go in the second round.
“I see people ahead of him that I know he’s better than,’’ West Virginia assistant coach Erik Martin told The Post. “Some of those guys he’s outplayed when we played them. He’s 6-2, a former football player and a winner. He has toughness. He came in the door with that. Hopefully where he gets drafted is somewhere where he’d play.’’
Wow, Sharife Cooper disappeared. Taken at 48.

Yep, that's what I was hoping for - PG, wing and a big. Summer League should be fun.

The Utah Jazz have agreed to trade C Derrick Favors and a future first-round pick to the Oklahoma City Thunder for a future second-round pick, sources tell ESPN. Jazz create some financial flexibility and Thunder grab another first-rounder.

So much for a Eurostash
It felt to me that once their fave guys in the teens were gone, they wanted out of the range their picks were in. Clearly they were willing to pick some guys but prioritized having future assets - the kind that get used in trades for Vets. They came in with 4 picks, picked four players and still have a potential first round pick and a second round pick in future drafts.
You can say that the guys they would have gotten at 19 and 21 and 32 would be better than who they got at 25 and 34/36. But if the Knicks are hunting vets, not trying to find franchise players in the late teens, early twenties.
They got future assets, opened a little cap space this year and next and picked 4 interesting players whose fit with "Knicks Basketball" all really makes sense. You can see how all of them really fit how the Knicks want to play. It was a good night, IMO.
