Refreshing to see how SD is absolutely shoving their chips. interested to see how it works out for them. They definitely had a long accumulation phase, and now it's #FullSend
wow. the padres finally realized theyre located in the best city in the US and should field a team commensurately. and theyre not fucking around while doing it. very interesting.
id expect a pretty good haul. Scherzer was the biggest difference maker available. I mean after him you got what jon Grey? Zack Davies? Thats a pretty big drop off.
Bowden says the deal has been agreed to. Now up to medicals and Scherzer.
Hopefully the Nats got a haul here from a bidding war that may have taken place. In retrospect the player they should have gone all in on was Rendon, not Strasburg, given Strasburg's injury history pre-2019.

I thought this as well. But let's not act like he's set the world on fire with the Angels. Very ordinary this year.

Perhaps, but the Nats are just not the same without him.
what the Nats do from here. Obviously they should trade anyone with value right now (schwarber? Anyone else?). I dont know what their minors looks like but if they can lock up turner then him and soto is a good start to a rebuild. Man paying Corbin/Strasburg 60 mill a year the next couple years is rough
If the Nats could get Gore straight up that’d be a great deal for them

Padres are surely very interested and aggressive in their pursuit of top trade target Max Scherzer, but source insists there are “multiple teams” still with a chance. Those teams are believed to include the Dodgers, and perhaps the Giants, Red Sox and another team.

Sources say other teams are still trying to top Padres for Scherzer. Nationals and Padres essentially have agreed on players in trade. Situation may be complicated by Scherzer’s ability to veto any trade and effectively choose next club.
Scherzer to me was the one big playoff difference maker. Shame the mets didnt have even have a chance to get him, but i get it.
Far from it. Still one of the best in the game.

With Turner, if they aren't going to sign him long term they need to trade him.
Do you think SD really had to give up a ton to get him?
dream scenario for the Nats as sellers. 2 legitimate contenders, same division, hate each other....and both need/want the same thing.

They were bidding against as many as 8 other teams. Hopefully that'll be a nice haul for the Nats.
but a guy you can legitimately give the ball to in any game of any series and know that he's going to be an absolute bulldog.

i'll always be a fan - he was something to see every time he took the mound.

To be fair, Snell has been shitty this year. I know cause I drafted that fucker on my fantasy team.
