I thought Booker, Clement, and the rookie would suffice.

Much value as a ST guy but he's a tough runner and ok receiver. More competition the better.
Wonder if Week 3

Is the goal for Barkley returning. Sun 4:30/ followed by the Thur night game. Don’t see them trusting him playing with the short turnaround leading into Week 2 especially because he is unlikely to see any in game work during the pre- season.
Hope Barkley is ready for Week 1, we need him

and he's already missed plenty of games in his career.
I like Morris

But reading the tea leaves say Barkley may not be ready. Ugg

I like Morris too, but suspect you are probably right.
Lets not forget

The Giants did waive from IR, RB Taquan Mizzell today.
Bottom of the roster move, no?

If we lose another RB then he becomes a factor but even if Barkley isn’t ready he’s probably a bit of a long shot.

Maybe they will. Maybe they are hellbent on making sure the can run the ball whether Barkley is healthy or not.It means that, playcallingwise, campaign planning-wise, they WILL maintain the option ( or expand, if you prefer) to run the ball. They don't want that tool, that is the threat of the run, taken away. It constricts their ability to gameplan if they can't present a credible run threat, and encroaches on Jones ability to create. They want to know what they have in jones so they can make a sound decision about their QB, not RB. I think they already know what they are doing about Barkley long term. If he's healthy, we resign him.

I wouldn't say that. I think Giants liked Morris last year, he ran hard. It's competition for the bottom of the roster and insurance.

I believe Saquon is ready but will be eased in. Maybe 10-12 touches per game the first couple of weeks.

is being signed because the Giants are short at RB (for camp purposes) right now.
I hope it's mainly for camp.

I loved Morris coming into the league, and he was useful last year because the Giants didn't have much else, but he's been a shadow of what he once was for years. If he's anticipated to be a major part of the Giants going forward, that concerns me regarding the other RB's the Giants have added to the roster. He's a pro RB, with a pro mindset and moves, but physically far over the hill.

Like many, wish the Giants had a plan to add one via the draft earlier than they did.
I guess he's on speed dial...

and still remembers the play book. Because otherwise there are a few interesting names among the unsigned RB's if they wanted more than some camp reps.
Morris is a North-South runner

He has some wiggle but is always going forward

Very good bottom of roster signing
I guess Dorsey Levens

wasn't available
But why?

How many RBs do we carry? We have his phone number so just tell him we will call him when Saquon goes down….
