Is the goal for Barkley returning. Sun 4:30/ followed by the Thur night game. Don’t see them trusting him playing with the short turnaround leading into Week 2 especially because he is unlikely to see any in game work during the pre- season.
I thought Booker, Clement, and the rookie would suffice.
Maybe they will. Maybe they are hellbent on making sure the can run the ball whether Barkley is healthy or not.It means that, playcallingwise, campaign planning-wise, they WILL maintain the option ( or expand, if you prefer) to run the ball. They don't want that tool, that is the threat of the run, taken away. It constricts their ability to gameplan if they can't present a credible run threat, and encroaches on Jones ability to create. They want to know what they have in jones so they can make a sound decision about their QB, not RB. I think they already know what they are doing about Barkley long term. If he's healthy, we resign him.
I loved Morris coming into the league, and he was useful last year because the Giants didn't have much else, but he's been a shadow of what he once was for years. If he's anticipated to be a major part of the Giants going forward, that concerns me regarding the other RB's the Giants have added to the roster. He's a pro RB, with a pro mindset and moves, but physically far over the hill.
Like many, wish the Giants had a plan to add one via the draft earlier than they did.
How many RBs do we carry? We have his phone number so just tell him we will call him when Saquon goes down….
