With Lemieux on the shelf temporarily, I didn't think the Giants would move Hernandez back to LG, not after he's been preparing to play RG. Nor did I think they'd move Zach Fulton to the left side. I think they like him as the backup RG, plus he can play OC in a pinch.
What surprises me the most - and yes, I know it's still early - is how Wiggins appears to have leaped over Chad Slade and current BBI legend Kyle Murphy on the depth chart. It could be that the Giants already know what they have with Slade and Murphy (which may not be much), and just want to see if Wiggins brings anything useful to the table. I don't know. It just seems a little odd to me that a 33 year-old JAG who's played sparingly for the last few years is taking snaps with the ones.
Of course, we'll see if that continues while Lemieux remains sidelined.
I wish I knew what the deal is with Elerson Smith.
What kind of injury, how long he'll be out, etc. I didn't expect him to be a significant contributor this year, except maybe on special teams, or as an occasional pass-rusher, but he's still missing valuable practice time. I worry that it will hurt his development, especially if it's something that lingers and he ends up on IR. A 4th round pick isn't a huge investment, but it's an investment nonetheless. I'd like to see it pay off.
RE: I wonder what, if anything, we can read into Wiggins filling in at LG?

For sure, not that I know enough about Wiggins but not the name I would have picked as the 1st man up. Who knows though, he was on the active roster for a short time last year, so I guess they see something they like. Or they know they want some vet backup so they are giving him a shot to see what he has over the other vet jags? lol

In any context? It's like he sailed off the edge of the world (in secret because if he really did that it would be pretty big news itself). Maybe more like he isn't leaving his house for some reason.

Slade did not practice on Friday due to a personal excuse, no mention of him for yesterday's practice though. Could still be away from the team. As for Wiggins, probably just a matter of the fact he's a vet and/or want to see what he has left.

Only thing I recall seeing regarding Beal was Judge saying he wasn't going to comment on his legal issues. Not even sure if he's at training camp right now due to it but haven't been following too closely.
Ever since the Giants left Albany and now lack of fans at training camp, the amount of reports and fun of following training camp has waned. We're at the mercy of whatever tweets we get from the beats, and even they don't have much access.
So that just makes one assume he is in attendance. But is he drilling, where is he in the 7 on 7's, is he only "with the trainers"... that's what I want to know, but yeah, we got to wait until a writer thinks about it, notices, then mentions.
I'd love to read a football question about Beal asked of Judge and get some non-answer that maybe gives a sliver of the shadow of a hint on where he is in the pecking order of DB's.

As long as he doesn't respond like this to a double A-gap blitz, he's worth a shot.
Trust the process.
Trust the process.
I'll trust the process when it produces results. Until then I'll maintain a healthy skepticism.
