There are enough people in the building who know Stevens.

Between Mississippi State and Penn State, he played with, or for, or in front of several Giant players and coaches. He seems like a useful, versatile practice-squad body. The Taysom Hill role didn’t work out for him, but he does have intriguing tools.
That's quick

For his size. Looks like a nice frame for a Special Teams player. Could offer more overall to the roster then any one else for TE4.
Had his shot with NO

hands, and the ability to get open, Stevens will need the courage to catch the ball when he knows he is going to get hit in the ribs.

Question: Was he a QB who held onto the ball and completed passes the instant before he got smothered by the defense or did he get happy feet when his protection broke down?

He was a QB who would run people over.
He flopped in the Taysom Hill role

But maybe he can make it in the NFL strictly as a TE. He has impressive workout numbers.

He was an awful qb. He always took off an ran either at the first sign of pressure or he couldn't make the read. He isn't an elusive runner neither. He would just go full steam ahead right into whatever was in front of him. I suppose TE is his best shot at sticking around in the NFL, but I'm doubtful he sticks anywhere
