Roster Updates: LB Blake Martinez and DB Joshua Kalu have been activated. WR Derrick Dillon has been placed on the Reserve/Injured list and LB Todd Davis has been placed on the Reserve/Retired list.
@WesSteinberg
Huge moment of pride today for #Giants HC Joe Judge as he managed to work LB Todd Davis so hard that he retired on the spot.
Judge asked Davis to run numerous laps until he broke down and quit. Judge told me personally Davis wasn’t ‘hard nosed enough to fit our culture’. Link - ( New Window )
There were two things I wanted this summer - no injuries and no drama. Seems like we've had our fair share of both.
Drama? What drama are you referring to?
Well, you can start with Benjamin. Couple that with signing a veteran ILB and two days later he's retiring, as if this team needed more WTF moments. I just want to see smooth sailing from now on.

Come on man. A player deciding to retire, without any further detail into why he made that decision is dramatic to you? Haha. Ok.

It's just the Head Coach announcing his presence with authority over some front office signings...

Haha. Yes it is. At the very least it's odd, and at a key position where one starter and his principal backup are both on the shelf, which makes it troubling, too.

Best thing yet was the Giants Insider podcast crew retweeting the "Benjamin stole food" tweet and commenting "you can't make this stuff up".

No, without details on why a guy signed 3 days ago decided to retire is neither odd, nor dramatic.
If Davis had been traded or waived to the Giants, I could understand.
some of these comments are really funny. I just picture him staring in horror at Judge does nothing but "cusses all the time" then being told to run a lap and he's like fuck this shit, and just runs right back into the locker room, packs his stuff and drives away.

Come on, this is quite an embellishment if you're calling low depth chart and probably won't make the roster players quitting because they're being pushed hard as being "Drama"
Such short lived bliss. Fun while it lasted.

HAHAHAHA - was trying to remember who it was and couldn't pull the name - well done.
LOL. He probably did a "flipper" lap and just ran out of the stadium.

Training camp is much different than even 15 years ago but it is still a grind.
