the vet catcher and gives up a hit on 0-2 count....
Lol. After what these two kids have done, THAT’S what you’re focused on?
Yes. Why? Do you think a guy just barely in AAA knows more than a 5 year catcher? Catchers set people up for a pitch. When they see that the batter is looking for a pitch they call something else.

I couldn’t care less. Sanchez doesn’t know these guys and what they are comfortable throwing. Pitchers shake off catchers every day of the week. It’s not even worth mentioning. Aside from that, I just found it interesting that the way these two kids pitched, that of all things is what you brought up multiple times. Almost like you’re looking for something to complain about. I think you’re over analyzing things, but if that’s what you do, have at it.

You watch what you want and I watch what I want and I will comment on what I think are mistakes.
They pitched well, but they gave up 3 hits when they shook off the catcher. I suppose you did not see that.
Gary does not need to know what they are comfortable with. He sees what they are throwing and how well they are throwing each pitch and he certainly knows what the Orioles batters like to hit, which these pitchers will not know.
If Chapman or Cole and guys of their experience shake off the catcher, they have earned it. Two guys barely into AAA should not be shaking off an experienced catcher.
Anyway, you are certainly entitled to your opinion.
Meanwhile it is 13-1 after Judge creeps one over the RF porch wall.
it isn't cut and dry. A pitcher, no matter how green, should be able to shake off what they aren't comfortable throwing. There's also synergy between Pitcher and Cather that doesn't happen overnight. I'm sure they will work on it if it is an actual issue (and it may not be).
has an impressive arm, if that kid can harness his stuff...
well they might just have something there.
They got him from the Twinkies for Jake Cave, hmmm.
Hopefully he gets another start. Deivi Garcia has taken two steps backward this season, disappointing.
Gil has better stuff than Garcia.
RE: I don't think the catchers are calling the pitches, the bench is
Was really impressed but this Ridings kid. You can never have enough bullpen depth. I know it was against the Orioles, I hope they give him the opportunity to stick with the big club.
Gil and Ridings were two of the three pitchers who combined on a no-hitter recently for Scranton. Watch Ridings close out the game. If you watch the whole video, you can see he clearly had no clue they pitched a no-hitter. Ridings - ( New Window )
vs
Yankees:
Now 3-0 after Rizzo gets DJLM in after the throw from CF hits 2nd base and bounces away...
6-0
Hey Rook, throw what the vet catcher calls.....
Just like the support Montgomery gets.
Blind squirrel finds an acorn now and then...
Now, stop jinxing it!
Yea, me too. I like that he seems to be able to throw high and low, in and out. Good velocity and good off speed stuff.

Good night all, sleep well. Hope they get it done tomorrow. I will take 2 wins out of 3 the rest of the year.
Rnady Vazquez pitched amazing for Hudson Valley. Big Sleeper prospect
He wanted to announce his presence with authority LOL

The bench generally calls throws to first base by the pitcher. That is why you see the catcher looking into the
dugout.
