Whats up guys avid fantasy player but first time doing a keeper league (we are starting from scratch.) League is a bit funky - 12 team ppr, 6 point passing -2 int, and theres a super flex.
Having said all that with first pick and there being 6 point passing and up to 2 qbs started I have to take mahomes right? Mccaffrey and Barkley are at top of the board but 1 always injured and 2 will be in the league probably less than half the time mahomes will be. Thanks in advance!
One QB that I am not a big fan of in terms of real football that will likely put up nice fantasy numbers this year is Cousins. He’s got great receivers, depth at RB, and a promising young TE. Look for him as your second QB if it’s a 2 QB league.
Watch the flow of the draft. If people are going QB crazy early on grab the best receivers and RB’s that you can.
Also, having a SF 12 team league is beyond stupid imo. Simple math: if teams have 2 QBs they have an advantage but then you need a backup so 12 x 3 = 36. There are 32 NFL teams so some teams if they don't draft correctly may be stuck with 1 or 2 QB. Injuries happen so you want at least 3 QBs. If you get 4 you can get a king's ransom for one. You take the best QB available 1 overall.
In one of my leagues (also 6pts per passing TD) the top 11 QB's all scored more than the top position player (Kamara) and of the top 25 point scorers only 7 were not QB.s
So the 19th ranked QB still outscored all but 7 players in the whole league.
if you are one of those people who doesn't get *at least* 3 QB's you will suffer if you're playing a team with 2 on your bye week or if you get an injury.
And I agree 12 team and super flex (2 QB) is stupid.
I think it right-sizes the valuation of QB.
I do think that 6 point passing TDs is probably over-cooking it a bit. I think 4 points and Superflex is the sweet spot, IMO.
