some, I expect the Lakers to be really, really good despite their age but their season will come down to the health of AD and Lebron... Lebron has been unbelievably healthy for the most part (until his ankle this year) AD quite the opposite. I think the Nets are the favorites coming into the season but we shall see what happens.
is pulling with the US men's basketball games at the olympics. Have to admit I was interested in watching late tonight vs the Aussies but its only on their shitty streaming service like the other games. Unreal. Yea I'm gonna pay so I can watch 14 year old re-runs of their shitty shows.

I wonder if Isaiah Jackson going to Indy makes it even more likely that Myles Turner gets traded. And if he does the Knicks have been rumored to be one of the more likely teams to trade for him.
If the knicks can manage the minutes for Rose, Walker and some of the older players during the regular season and still make the playoffs, then they can rely on them a little more come playoff time. Maybe they can make a (little) bit of noise.
that simple for me. Agree that Bron will be good to go until further notice...
Sooner or later, Father Time has to catch up with him. I know he keeps himself in tremendous shape, but the mileage...he does save some of his reserves for big games. His defense has slipped in last few seasons too.
Weren’t shit through their first 3-4 years in the league.
When we compare RJB to at their peak super stars, we need to remember that many peak super stars didn’t peak until years 3-4.
RJB was better in his year two than butler or Leonard were. A lot better. Brandon Ingram? RJB had a better year 2.
Doesn’t mean RJB reaches that level but we need to remember that the NBA super star doesn’t always arrive in the NBA as one. Many super stars are cultivated.

Yeah I agree, I think he has 2-3 more years of being elite though. He wants to make it to play with Bronny.
i could see them dominating for 1 year and winning the title but i could also see them having a ton of injuries and it failing
The Nets are in the same boat.
Nets are a little yoinger though and fit better..
I just dont see how Westbrook and Lebron mesh, i know great players make it work but Westbrook is at his best with the ball in his hands, if it isnt he is useless
They knew Kemba would get bought out Monday and had made an under the table offer to Nunn before the QO was pulled and got a no then and pivoted to Kemba

I think it plays out like the Nets. You're not playing all three at once the majority of the time. Allows AD and Bron to rest a lot.

if we could get him? I keep hearing Mitchell Robinson but why would the Pacers want Mitch-- in that case I would assume it would have to be a 3-team trade. I would be in favor of that though if we only had to give up Mitch and a 1st.

Is that even possible now? Salaries aren't close.

I think you're right. Even Knox, Vildoza, and Mitch doesn't get you to 11 mill. And Turner is getting 18.

You're right. It would have to be Noel instead of Mitch (or Burks-- would obviously prefer to give up Noel if we're getting Turner, so again would likely have to be a 3 team trade of sorts). And in that case would have to give up 2 firsts I would think (along with Luca and Knox).
By the way-- I think that 90 day moratorium thing on not being able to trade guys you just signed (i.e. Burks and Noel) is only valid on new acquisitions-- I think it doesn't apply to Burks and Noel because they stayed w/ the Knicks. I just learned that last night. Could be wrong though.
Could we sign Mitch to an extension and then trade him? His base would go up significantly and then the price tag would be more balanced so it could probably be like Mitch and one of Knox/Luca plus a pick.
I think Vildoza will stick along with at least one rookie.
I think the third group of five will be Taj-Sims-Knox-Grimes-Vildoza. My guess is McBride and Simms go to the G-League, while Grimes and Sims stay with the big team. Grimes may get some occasional burn and Sims has Taj mentoring him. McBride and Simms get PT at Westchester, with the possibility that McBride replaces Vildoza later in the season.

By his second season in the league, Butler was delivering 7+ win shares.
Kawhi posted 5.5 WS as a rookie, 6.2 in his second year, and other than the year that he forced himself out of SA, he hasn't represented fewer than 7.7 win shares.
Barrett is absolutely on the upswing, but he's nowhere near where either of these guys were after their first two years in the league.

Golden State has traded F Eric Paschall to the Utah Jazz for a protected future second round pick, sources tell ESPN.
Paschall was in the first team all-rookie in 2020. RJ wasn't even on the second team. And now he's traded for a second round pick...

RJ not making the all rookie teams last year was so clearly anti-Knick bias. He wasn't great as rookie but Terrance Davis.. really?

Nope the basketball games are only on the pay version.
Kawhi Leonard 1
Paul George 2
Blake Griffin 3
Kinda had a bad rep for a while but he's underrated by many at this point
I'm like 98% with you on Jimmy's value, I just think RJ can get there. Maybe I'm crazy.

& the thing with the Lakers...health. Huge factor with both AD & LBJ.

and if you look at who they signed yeah they have some names but it really isnt that good..
Their bench is terrible, their starting 2 is wayne Ellington or Kent Bazemore

In retrospect that Kemba deal was terrible, but I think that's the first connection of Khris to NYK.

RJ/Burks

I think someone will draft Bronny and LBJ will go play with whatever that team is, no matter how good Bronny or LBJ is at that point
