Very good point. Because you know they will want to move some picks to get more help for Luka. It’s probably being too hopeful but I can see Dallas lifting the protections for Bullock.
Based on what we saw this unit do toward the end of the regular season, and if IQ and Obi can take another step up, this is honestly one of the best 2nd units in the entire NBA. This was always overshadowed by the fact that Payton kept getting us into deep holes to start games that Rose then had to dig us out of, and yet somehow we were still 24-11 with Rose playing. Payton was something like -70 during that one stretch when we went 12-1. Think about that. He was our starting PG. I think a lot of people are underestimating the value of having a lethal 2nd unit in the NBA. Everyone just focuses on the starting 5, trading 4 quarters for a dollars, having super teams of 3 dudes at a time with vet min players filled in elsewhere, but I think having a solid starting unit with a lethal 2nd unit off the bench can WIN GAMES. Looking forward to seeing what having a competent real starting PG taking Payton's minutes will do for this team. We're all assuming they're gonna take a step back this year, but for the fans who watched every game last year: how many of us said "damn if only we could have a legit starting PG to take Payton's awful minutes." Now we certainly have that. Let's see what happens!

Chicago & Oklahoma City are two names that I’ve heard connected to trade. BKN most recently requested Deni Avdija + future 1st/2nd round picks from WAS — WAS rebuffed the offer. Hearing Dinwiddie WILL be a Wizard, the avenue is just complicated.
all that to pay a 28 year old with one good year coming off a serious injury 20 mill a year. The wiz always make one or two weird moves (swapping oubre for Ariza, paying bertans a billion dollars, etc..)
Hopefully Kemba is healthy and gives the MSG fans a couple of fun years.
It seems like Knicks fans aren’t that high on RJ but I think he has a lot of potential especially if that 3pt shooting isn’t a one year mirage. I could easily see him ending up being a better player than Brandon Ingram, another Duke SF taken near the top of the draft. If he takes a leap to All-Star caliber in the next couple years, this Knicks team will be a tough out for anyone in a series.

Bullock and Kemba, even with knee problems, is better than Payton. In addition, there may be some significant player improvement particularly in last year's rookies. I'm optimistic about holding on to our 4 seed in the playoffs because of these things and because we'll have Rose all season.

Bucks, Nets, Sixers, Miami, Hawks, Bulls, Pacers. Can't see the Knicks being better than all but 3 of those teams. Bucks, Nets, Sixers seem like moral locks to be better. It's possible but I'd be very surprised if the Knicks are better than all of the Heat, Hawks, Bulls and Pacers. Some? Sure. Atlanta just destroyed the Knicks, on paper they get the nod over the Knicks until proven otherwise.
i don't know if we'll be a 4 seed or a six seed or the 8seed because the east is really good now. but what i do know is that we're really gonna compete with everyone outside Brooklyn and the Bucks. we can play with them all. we have a fun team who plays really hard. we have a bunch of young guys developing. we are officially light years away from where we were two years ago and that's pretty awesome.

I'm super high on RJ. RN I think his ceiling is better-shooting Jimmy Butler. Which is a (bottom of the) top-10 player in the league, although probably not a #1 on a championship team. If he turns into that I will be ecstatic. Even the player he is now is very valuable.

some, I expect the Lakers to be really, really good despite their age but their season will come down to the health of AD and Lebron... Lebron has been unbelievably healthy for the most part (until his ankle this year) AD quite the opposite. I think the Nets are the favorites coming into the season but we shall see what happens.
