@giantswfan
#Giants #Tolbert - shepard as dialed in as ever seen....worked with jones a few times in offseason
@giantswfan
#Giants #Tolbert - toney elusive with ball in hands and strong enough to break tackles....
GiantsWFAN
@giantswfan
#Giants #Tolbert - Toney is a ways behind physically but been alert in meetings...so van tell he is picking it up
GiantsWFAN
@giantswfan
#Giants #Tolbert - golladay very businesslike approach to the game.....fun guy to coach...doesnt look open but is because of size and wingspan

@RVacchianoSNY
Giants QB coach Jerry Schlupinski on what he likes most about QB Daniel Jones: “He’s so darn driven to get everything right. He asks great questions and he’s always thinking on the next level.”

@DDuggan21
Reggie Ragland in a jersey for today’s practice (no pads). Presumably the vet LB will be activated from PUP today.

But Garrett came off as an absolute douche today with writing fight on his shirt and telling reporters to call him coach. Maybe he was joking around but if he was it didn't land.
Wasn't there a sh*tstorm around Deion and wanting to be called "coach"? Pretty sure their careers in DAL overlapped, so I'm guessing he's either:
a) Giving the press sh*t about all of that
b) Standing up for his friend/former teammate
Yeah, Sanders got heat for that. But the more interesting thing to me was writing "FIGHT" on his shirt. I do not remember Garrett ever doing something like that before and out of all the words in the English language he chose the word fight at his first PC after the fight? His answer seemed that he didn't even have a legit reason for doing it by saying some of the people he admires most are fighters, but not necessarily on the field. It was just a very weird situation. The word "necessarily" could have been left out to be on the same page as your HC but it makes it sound like he doesn't agree with Judge's philosophy on it nor how he handled it.
Again, I could be reading into it too much but what was the purpose for it?
@Dan_Salomone
Jason Garrett said Kadarius Toney is someone who picks up football easily, which they saw in the spring.
No surprise. Coaches at every level have made this observation. Strike three against the notion he’s not a bright kid.

Yea, I agree his answer there is pretty tone deaf after the fight, but maybe the offense was using that as a slogan before-hand? And then Garrett realized how things probably looked during the PC and added that last, odd comment?
There was this tweet, though not sure if its serious:

@NYPost_Schwartz
Jason Garrett wearing a handwritten “Fight” shirt. He said his official one given to him by the team is on the wash.
@Dan_Salomone
Injury Update: LB Reggie Ragland passed his physical and was removed from Reserve/Non-football injury.
maybe the hot seat is starting to get to him
The guy was constantly on the hot seat in Dallas. It's not like he was coaching the Jags.
Quite coincidental that he made this comment in his first PC after the flak his former teammate received.
Good comments from Sale regarding the two tackles. Toney may wind up being a little "different" for some but he is going to be a great part of the offensive solution. Galloday/Slayton clear things out and Toney is going to make a lot of plays underneath for big gains.
What’s he whining about now?

Giants are having a very light practice. Again, limited workload for Andrew Thomas. Matt Peart at LT again. Judge said they’re managing Thomas’ workload as he comes back from offseason ankle surgery.
Correct, and now it's making waves on Twitter. Garrett prefers to be called "Coach" ala Deion.
Years ago, when I participated in one press conference, I would never have addressed Tom Coughlin as "Tom."

Julian Love getting work as the No. 1 nickel corner for the second straight practice. He’s a guy who will just find his way onto the field this season.

Best I can tell is that Garrett asked him to be called "coach" rather than "Jason."

Actually, I think it's incorrect and just another reason to hate social media.
Todd Archer tweeted this:
I read this and then watched the video. He doesn't even hear them call him "Jason" because he's already saying the next line. He was pretty clearly just annoyed at the non-response to his saying it was good to see you.
But that will almost assuredly get lost in all the overblown reactions to Pat Leonard's assumption of what he meant.
"How dare he ask us to call him coach"
"I'm not calling him coach"
Big deal, who cares, what a bunch of assholes

At the risk of speaking for you, that may be because you aSeinfeld. I'm sure that journalists do not see Garrett as their superior and certainly not their coach, so him asking to be called coach is trying to assert his superiority in a relationship where he really has none. As much of a whiny weasel Leonard appears to be, I agree with him on this.
Reminds me of the Maestro episode on Senifeld.

That's nice. I like to root for the longshots.
That's completely different.
Besides, do you think Pat Leonard ever played sports?

coaches I played for when I was a kid up until college and still call them Coach. Or coaches I played against

Replying to @DDuggan21
Thomas has done more as practice has progressed so definitely just seems like a maintenance thing.

I 100% call former coaches "coach."
But I've coached for about 15 years and routinely tell kids that once they graduate, they can call me by my first name.
They never do but I certainly wouldn't be upset if, as an adult, they chose to do so.
@Dan_Salomone
Thomas McGaughey said Kadarius Toney’s college tape excites them, but nothing will be given to him as a returner just because he’s a first-round pick. “This ain’t the Swamp. This is the Meadowlands.”
Years ago, when I participated in one press conference, I would never have addressed Tom Coughlin as "Tom."
really fucking stupid post cause it implies he fails which means Giants fail.
find other things to be upset about like global warming

also anyone who ever played sports knows you call a coach "coach" like eric said its a showing of respect.
with a pause and he was just filling in the blank basically say this is where you say "good to see you coach" as what may be a typical response
Judge left off Kelvin Benjamin??
He did this all the time with us, especially if the first reaction was meh. He wasn’t emphasizing the coach part, based on my interactions with him for a decade plus. He just wants the reflexive reply of, Good to see you too.
seemed like a light walk through day but there is some stuff going through the tweets
