GBN: NFL Power Rankings 2021 Preliminary/Training Camp

M.S. : 8/5/2021 9:03 am

Looks like this will come in four installments.

Installment #1 is the bottom fourth of the NFL -- teams ranked 25 to 32.

The good news is the Giants are the best (#25) of the worst. The bad news is we're still in the fourth quartile. (Hopefully, the Giants will outperform this ranking, which is my expectation.)

The number one concern is Daniel Jones, and whether or not he will, "...(shed) his habits that make him a turnover machine." What are those habits? Probably holding on to the ball too long. Also, his turnovers represent a lack of pocket presence, and if he ever finds a way to effectively move around the pocket -- while keeping his eyes downfield -- his turnovers will go down dramatically.

The second issue is that the Giants, "...need SAQUON BARKLEY to be healthy and approach 2,000-yards of Offense." True, it will help immeasurably for our star RB to regain former glory; but one could argue that 2,000 yards of offense from one player just means that no one else could be depended upon, which would spell bigtime trouble. Bottom line: Saquon Barkley doesn't have to achieve any specific metric -- he just needs to be consistently "effective" when he has the ball in his hands.

I think they need Barkley down the stretch. If he peaks at the right time and get 1,200 yds total I think that's more then good enough. It's a matter of when.
