not mean as much as they do to some folks. Wiggins sucks and the Giants picked up a back up (ps) player who started a number of games in his career. If they signed him to be the 1st backup or starter then the world is falling.
Only to be picking up piece off the scrapheap here in early September. Back then, Gettleman was saying how they had more faith in their offensive lineman then the media did.
It appears now that the media (BBI and a lot of others) were right and Dave was wrong.

Unbelievable
Funny, but we all knew they were likely to only improve 2 out of the 3 major needs in the draft (WR, ER, OL) with six picks. They also improved CB, WR and TE in Free Agency. We talked about the need for a #2 CB which they did get. We also talked frequently that OLine help would be available on cut days after camp.
Yes they could have passed on WR or ER in the draft for OL help and then people would be pissed about that.
When you keep moving goal posts to fit the narrative you want, nobody is satisfied.

The giants went heavy drafting offensive linemen in the draft last year (3 drafted) and they also signed Fulton and looney with plans for them to be backups. That plan changed when they retired. How was Dave wrong by signing backups? Last I checked Lemieux, gates, Thomas and peart were all still on the team, but please continue with how everyone was right and Dave was wrong.

Clap clap…we’ll said, brother.
So many of these Debbie downers have nothing better to do than find fault with DG or DJ.
Unfortunately for them, they are not able to even see how much our team has upgraded the past two years.
We went from 3 wins to 6 wins and this year, 9 or more.
We have a brilliant hard working stickler for details young head coach
We now have a top 10 defense, maybe even top 5
We have one of the best secondaries in football
We now have an exciting core of WRs
We have great runners, assuming Saquon is healthy
We have 3-4 TEs who all have some special skill set
We have great ST in our FG, P
We have a very young OL which certainly needs time to gel and practice together
And thanks to DG’s last minute brilliance, has secured for us decent depth on the OL
And hopefully our young Physically gifted QB has developed and matured enough to be able to make these great playmakers he has been given to make him great
And so many downers out there want to find fault. SMH Shame of you guys.

The OLine has been an obvious weakness for how many seasons? Some of us were advocating going OLine first round, WR second. When you've spent a #2 pick on a running back, I would think it follows from that that you're offensive line needs to be not just okay, but very good, to make the openings for your running back. I'm surprised this hasn't been remarked upon.

We picked Flowers and Thomas near the top of the first round. How's that worked out so far? You can throw in Pugh, also, as a first rounder. Hernandez and Richburg round 2. Obviously, this club has a problem evaluating OL.
It never ceases to amaze me. You have people complaining about which OL the team signs to the practice squad. You also have people criticizing the team for signing Skura to the PS because "they are going to lose him" to another team.

It doesn't amaze me. The posters who complain about the practice squad are NOT the same posters who worry about Skura being signed.
the problem with saying we drafted OL Heavy in 2020
Lot of time spent on and invested in him to just be completely done with him. Weird deal.
Too funny!
Meaning, he'll fit right in.

The Giants know what Wiggins is AND that he will be available, no harm in looking to improve the bottom of the roster.

Pro Football Focus notes that he led the nation with most pass block snaps(469) without allowing a sack as of December 2017.
He was a top 60 TE prospect in HS so he has some athleticism.
4.90 forty for a guy who weighs 311 - impressive
Vertical - 36
BP 27
This is just the kind of guy that can be developed on the Pracice Squad.
