Less than a week away and I'm sure I'm not the only one thinking about watching the games.
It's been a while and there are some new faces. Who are you most excited to watch this week?
The return of Barkley?
Whether DJ makes a leap?
Dex or Williams wreaking havoc? Carter off the edge?
Maybe one of the new signings - AJax, Golladay or Rudolph?
What about a rookie? Azeez or Toney?
For me it's the Xman. I think he's going to be a star and I can't wait to see him in action.
Who you got?
My interested is also piqued to see Toney get his first game action. I don't think he'll be a big part of the game plan, as he didn't get really any reps throughout preseason, but can't wait to see what he does with the ball in his hands.
I certainly expect the defense to be pretty good, so for me, my excitement is how this offense comes together, so I'd also like to see a nice game from DJ, and looking forward to seeing if he shows some improvement in Game 1.
Eyes on your own paper.
1B: Barkley. Can he return to form and recapture what he showed his rookie season? Can he stay healthy through a full season? Is he worth paying and locking up on this team or is he going to bust?
I am hoping both guys answer those questions and help take this team in the right direction. Both are key to this whole offense and team being successful.
6 catches, 123 yards, 2 TDs.
It's been a long time since the Giants had a real #1 WR.
If he has a poor season, I'm not wasting any time defending him next offseason and will fully support drafting a QB in '22 (but I don't think that's going to happen).

Golladay: I want to see how he meshes with Jones, they can be a dynamic duo..
Toney: He brings an element giants havnt had in a long time, if ever

My top 3 as well. If I was picking a defensive player, probably McKinney.

Toney reminds me a little of Ahmed Bradshaw.
Kyle Rudolph is another because I am curious to see how much he has left in the tank. I am confident that he will be a good player for Jones this season which will be a big boost in the red zone. Now that Engram is more than likely out week one Rudolph will be the #1 TE.
Not any one player, but collectively, the defense has the potential to be “scary good”.
We’ll see.
Not really true. It's time to show he's a PRO starting QB that can be depended on.
I know it's impossible for some to process but there's a good chance Jones is OK this year, maybe even nicely productive and the QB who helps win 10 games or so, yet we still might be asking if he's super bowl worthy. And that's ok.
It aint now or never in terms of championships. It's now or never in terms of being a viable starter, which isn't asking that much if the team is stable enough around Jones.
and seeing whether Carter has become the player Patrick Graham is raving about.
And...don't sleep on Rudolph. It will be nice to have a TE that can get open and catch the football when needed.
Petrified work?
Giants make the playoffs laat year easily if he just cuts down on turnovers
Hi ceiling low floor.
I want to see the electricity.
And I'll take it a step further: we're probably gonna know pretty quickly. If he's making the same mistakes that he did the past 2 seasons it's not rushing to judgment to be concerned. I'm not even saying he has to light it up. Just don't make the same mistakes. If he does it's going to be hard to not feel like they're cooked right out of the gate.

For me there's too much riding on Jones for me to call it "excited." I'd say I'm most anxious to watch him.

I know it's an opinion question but I don't understand any other answer. I'm "very" excited to see a bunch of guys. Barkley obviously. Golladay, Ojulari, Carter, Peppers, Toney, etc. But most has to be Jones. The entire state of the franchise rests on him more than anyone else, and it doesn't even come close.

I actually came to that conclusion about halfway through the post but figured I was already too as into my rant to stop.
Should clarify single game rushing record. Next year is when he breaks the all purpose yards record.

Anxious is closer to the right answer for me on Jones.
The honeymoon/excitement wore off after his first year. He needs to deliver in a big way. A way commensurate with a real franchise QB.
I like this as well. I think he scored a few TDs this year
