Eli credits Peyton and Cupper for his handling of NY media.

Eli on with Dan Patrick this morning. Lots of good stuff. But pretty funny, when Patrick asked him how he knew, being from Louisiana, that he could handle the NY media, Eli credited his brothers.

Paraphrasing, he said he was able to read or see things people said about him that weren’t pleasant and not get upset mainly because Peyton and Cooper beat the shot out of him as a kid. He mentioned specifically “atomic wedgies” and them pulling his pants down at Mardi Gras, revealing his tidy whites. He also said the beatings were typically accompanied by threats: you tell Mom or Dad and you’ll get it again, but worse.

I listen to Patrick pretty often, so it’s fun he’s having Eli on more now.

Eli also wondered aloud if he should wear his own jersey or Saquon’s or some other while working at MetLife, or on the Monday night gig. Dead-panned that he thought about wearing his jersey but thought that might seem a little weird to some. “Why is he wearing his jersey?” he said.
