I want to get an 50"outdoor tv for my patio. Any recommendations? Also if anyone owns one how reliable are they to the weather?

I’ve been researching them for my pool area.

I think the 55in is around 3,000
I was skeptical of the outdoor TVs,

So I bought a 55 inch, and got one of the Amazon outdoor tv covers… it’s been 3 years and it works perfectly! The cover was only $30. Look at the reviews, they’re great! (I live in upstate NY with shit weather too)

At the end of the day it all cost me $600 versus $3,000, and it’s been awesome!

I should have mentioned I bought a NON-OUTDOOR TV.

I have a undercover deck system and built a cabinet for it 4 years and counting still works great zero issues even in winter temps. As long as you are not looking at weather hitting it most TV’s will last. I do unplug mine when not in use but for 500 bucks worth the extra step.
Good luck!
I've had a regular TV outside for over 8 years

It's under our lanai and i put a cover over it sometimes. It's only about 36", which is best for our situation. I got it slightly used for about $100. Figured i could get another 1 every other yr or so for a while before i matched the cost of an outdoor TV. Now going on yr 9. Love it. Usually put on a game while i swim and have an adult bev.
I have a sunbrite in my lanai in Florida.

Aside from the faster failure rate of using an outdoor tv in these elements, my back yard faces directly at the sun....it would be too bright to see anything.

The sunbrite, while pricey, is great. Beautiful 4k picture and we can see it just fine from the pool on a sunny day.

with the notion that we would just replace it as needed.

One of the better home improvement decisions we've made since we still haven't needed to replace it.
Just to add about my post earlier

If you do purchase an indoor I purchased component plugs for all of the unused HDMI, USB and AV cables to keep moisture, dust and pollen from getting in the tv. They are cheap and well worth the investment.
