The triple option offense was humming like a finely tuned engine for the second week in a row. The defensive secondary spang some leaks with blown coverages in the fourth quarter to make it closer than it should have been.
The 2-0 start is encouraging with UConn up at Michie Stadium next week.
could see their season basically put on life support by the Ducks in Week 2.
Oregon is probably better than predicted and OSU is probably going to be a different team in November than they are today. But the OSU defense seems weak.

I mean they'll have to win out, but the Ducks are a solid football team. Who is standing in the way of OSU from winning out the rest of the season? Ducks Getting much better play from their QB than last week.
Oregon's strength and conditioning coach is fucking hysterical
but CFB is still broken. It's the same teams every year. Every year or so an LSU or Oregon can put together an especially good season and crack the top tier, but it can't stay there.
The SEC is way ahead of the field and Alabama is way ahead of the rest of the SEC. The Big Whatever They Call It Now is basically Ohio State vs the field. The Pac 12 is up and down; sometimes Oregon, Stanford and USC rise up, occasionally Washington has a good year, UCLA and Cal are like little brothers hoping to get into the big boys' game...
In one sense, one could argue that the sheer hopelessness of most teams' situation brings the game back to something closer to what it should be: College kids playing for fun. But I think that's naive. Big time CFB is still basically a pro football minor league.
I can't be "Get off my lawn" guy about CFB, it was always a strange and unbalanced structure rife with cheating and corruption, but it's gotten worse from a fan's point of view. At least IMO.
I;ve been following UVA football since I went there in 1977, and I;m pretty sure we have never beaten a Big 10 team by 28 points.
That Tight End on UVA Jelani Woods is a ridiculous matchup nightmare. I don't know if he's fast enough for the pros, but he's pretty uncoverable against most college LBs. Link - ( New Window )
Am I already dunzo or is Toledo fucking winning? WTF?
It's been bad although Buchner just threw his first TD pass. I think they got to go with him the rest of the season and let him get valuable experience. Coan just doesn't look good and with the OL I think you need a more mobile QB.

I agree with all of this. It's harder to get into college football now than it was in the 1990s
Break up Rutgers - its just not fair to the rest of the Big10
Mayer really is great, but the rest of the team is pretty bad. If Toledo's QB was a little bit smarter he falls at the 1 yard line and a FG would've won the game.
Maybe I should've cooled my jets on Desmond Ridder as QB1

Incredible effort. Ducks need to move into the top three with this effort.
That’s not enough to overturn

Purdue 49-UConn Edsalls 0
No one will have seen it so it won’t count.
They need to switch out the 3-4. Have nice talent on the DL.
That was some play for the 2pt conversion.
New guru DC so far is a bust. Give him a couple more weeks to get the players to learn the D, but geez...
Not too impressive but they got it done.
I think this is a good win. And it might get better as the season goes along...
That was an aggressive call by you... ;)
Hey, I'm still bullish on Howell despite the calamity in Blacksburg. ;)
