Sunday night game

13ODB : 9/12/2021 6:19 am
Are games like Packer Saints. Steelers Bills and Browns Chiefs protected by fox and cbs? Those are more appealing matchups for then Rams Bears with Andy Dalton can’t believe this is the game they think is the prime matchup for week 1. Even the Monday night game should be a better matchup
Probably more about the markets

Than the matchup. No doubt the Network wants those two big markets tuning in, and I’d bet they play up the new stadium big time as well.

This is a big business first and foremost....

It has more to do with LA and Chicago....than the Rams vs the Bears.
I’ll be cheering hard for my second favorite team tonight

That’s whoever is playing the Bears. I’m a New York fan in the New York market. So in that way, this game combines the three biggest media markets into one big ratings bonanza.
Games cannot be changed the first week of the season. Lol.

As far as scheduling, as other have said, it is about markets. They don't give a shit about week 1. Everyone watches week 1.

Good point, but Yankees at Mets at the same time might draw some from the NY market.
It’s a horrible game…

for SNF. NFL had about eight other games that were much better. Just embarrassing.

Correct. The NFL bet huge on LA and a Week 1 matchup with Chicago is going to deliver ratings simply due to the markets and the fact that it's the first week.

You use Chicago now before their season goes in the crapper, and you create more flex options as the season moves along.

Dream scenario for the NFL is for the Rams to win tonight in front of a big audience to not only keep LAs interest, but out them on the radar for casual fans around the country.
they also had dallas tampa on thursday

so a lesser matchup for snf isnt unexpected
