Are we allowed to start asking if chase young is actually good? His workout videos are really impressive. Ask a WFT fan and they’ll tell you it’s because he’s triple teamed on every play
So are you saying they should have nixed the trade offer from Chicago that got them an extra first round selection next year and stayed where they were and selected the guard????? Really??? I liked Slater a lot, and he would have been my selection at 11, but ill take that extra 1st rounder all day. NOW, as far as taking Toney where they did....in wait and see mode on that. Slater was the OL I wanted, but he was gone. I was a Kwity Paye man at that spot, but again, lets wait and see.
Giants will go into next year with a 5th year RB, 4th year QB, and vet pass catchers. Getting the OL settled, and the development done this year would have been a great investment. Yes, getting 2 high pedigree lineman in place would have been worth not doing the trade.
Of course we needed Toney. I mean, we only signed Golladay, Rudolph, and Ross in free agency. So we definitely needed more receivers...
So they shouldn't have drafted Toney because they signed John Ross to a 1 year prove it deal and a 31 year old TE Rudolph to a 2 year deal? Yes Golladay is the #1 WR but you think it's wise to bet on John Ross stepping up and becoming a playmaking #2 WR? The Giants WR Corps was the worst in the NFL going into the offseason so adding Toney to the others was hardly a waste of resources.
Let's just say the Giants did take Slater instead of trading down. What would you do then if Jones doesn't prove himself this season? Now you're left without a huge asset to move up to get his replacement especially if Thomas proves himself as a solid LT.
By converting on 3rd and 7, but I don't get why more teams don't call time outs when on defense in that situation. Your offense has a lot more control over the clock... I feel it's better to have few TO's remaining when you're on offense than when on D.
RE: RE: I don't know if the Chargers front is this impressive or the WFT

Right and they lost Kerrigan who is a tremendous guy to have come in and spell. I think Sweat and Young are probably overrated.
Eagles haven't looked this good since the first quarter

would have taken the trade down with the Bears instead of Slater. I'm just not sure about taking Toney at #20. In any event, my sense was the Giants would have taken AVT if they had stayed at #11.
of the WFT last season before they started tanking.
Im usually one who tries to respect the opponent at all times, but......its the Falcons. They have had and, according to my Falcons buddy, continue to have major issues on defense. Im sure Hurts is improved and obviously Smith is gonna help a lot, but not ready to call them an offensive juggernaut just yet.

Oh the Falcons are absolute dogshit. Tell your friend I'm sorry
Depending on what the Giants look like, the NFC East stinks again this
So the Giants shouldn’t shore up their offensive line because Jones hasn’t proven himself?
How about the Giants shore up the offensive line so Jones can prove himself.
At some point dance with the girl you brought to prom.
DG hasn't a clue how to build a line despite all his bluster. And to be honest I'm a little skeptical of Joe Judge if he thought a 5th rounder was a starting caliber RT.

We paid KG to be the #1 WR. So that gave us KG, Shep and Slayton. Toss in EE and Rudolph, plus the return of SB, and those are a good basket of weapons.
And since Slater can play EVERY position on the OL, his value is exceedingly > than Toney's.
If Jones is poor this year, we'll very likely get a high pick anyway. True?

Vikings just tied game to head into OT and the crowd erupted with cheer so loudly it sounded like they were the home team. Embarrassed for Bengals fans, assuming they exist.

Drafting skill positions early without a line never works. Odell went 12 overall and is probably twice the player as KT yet Giants won 0 playoff games with Odell. This year will look and feel a lot like 2014.

I would not root for this scenario. DG will be gone but so will Joe Judge and DJ. Complete restart.. again.
the reports of the Steelers and BR's demise may be highly exaggerated right now...
Wake me up if Ben is winning in December, he is toast. He was underthrowing balls all over the place down the field and they were able to generate a lot of penalty flags because they were getting beat so bad. That won't work against good defenses. The Bills threw that game away. Allen shouldn't have throw the ball 51 times today.

The Bills aren't a good D? Especially at home?
Look, I'm not going to put the cart before the horse here, but this is an EXCELLENT win for the Steelers. The Bills are a very popular pick to represent the AFC in the SB.

I am okay with not spending a lot of draft capital on the OL if you are taking care of those needs via free agency.... with qualify free agents.

Not me. He looks to be the goods...
I think the front 7 from WFT without Kerrigan is now massively overrated.
Giants have one free agent lineman on the roster, and one understated free agent.
