Judge lost his 1st post game presser just now too

cpgiants : 9/12/2021 8:04 pm
1. Said he saw lots of positives.
2. Said he thought Saquon moved very well
3. Said Lemieux played well.
4. Said he knew he couldnt throw the red flag on a scoring play but just wanted to get the officials'attention
5. Said the Broncos are a good team
6. Said Bridgewater is a good quarterback (first win in 5 years)
7. Said the Denver offense created good matchups (we played mostly zone)
8. Said our pass rush was good today

All is not lost, but these are strange takes from a guy who usually dominates press conferences....

I think the problem is even the pessimistic fans look at Judge as the guy who knows what he's doing and after today we have to doubt that also. Did he really say that in the presser? Not a good look at all in his 2nd year. He loves to come off as the most prepared.
Judge is in an impossible spot

He inherited idiots at GM and in ownership. He inherited their terribly draft picks that were viewed as franchise pillars. The owner foisted an incompetent offensive coordinator on him.

I don't believe you can fully evaluate Judge until Gettleman, Garrett, Jones, and Barkley are gone.

It’s so much bigger than the coaches. Mara can keep switching out coaches every two seasons, but until the personnel department is overhauled, nothing will change.

John Mara thinks he is the pillar of a football family, but he’s not. Hire football people to run personnel, get out of the way & just write the checks.

I’m hopeful for Judge, but Garrett has to go. He needs to truly do it his way. I can’t be convinced that Garrett is a Judge guy.
Also, Terps..

I remember you saying that McAdoo was coaching with one hand behind his back in 2017. 4 years later, nothing has changed.

I agree with this but that challenge flag casts a lot of doubt in him now also. Everyone knew you could not challenge that!

Joe Judge broke my heart today. I've seen every NY Giant coach since Allie Sherman and I have never a worse coaching job by one of them ever and that covers a lot of ground. I've seen just as bad but never worse.

Let's start with the macro side of it. Jason Garrett is still running the same offense that was 31st in the NFL last year and Graham is still playing a scared soft zone trying to keep everything in front of the DB's with zero pass rush. The Giants didn't get a single blitz home today and they blitzed a lot.

How has Judge not taken over the offense? Listen to any of the dozen Giant podcasts with arm chair all 22 film watchers and they can see how easy is it to defend all the short routes to the sticks with the receiver facing the QB and Joe Judge can't see this?

How does Judge let the Giants go into this season without adding a decent OL from outside the organization, draft or FA, after last year and pass rushers?

As far as today goes on a thread before the games today started I said please use Barkley and especially Toney as decoys early in the game. Since they're going to play limited snaps the other team is going to expect them to get the ball when they are on the field. I'm just a guy who sits on my couch and screams at the TV. How do I know this but Judge and Garrett don't?

I'd hold off on judging him. We're playing uphill with Garrett though, he's not good enough to coach without talent. There's a reason Moore took over the offense when he was HC. Judge needs to be more aggressive in-game but I haven't seen anything beyond that to cause for concern.

Graham needs to start coaching like we went out and bought him a second corner. We aren’t going to be able to stop teams on 3rd and 4th and short like we did last year without Dalvin anymore. We also aren’t going to win the early downs as convincingly. This let them drive the whole field shit and settle for points needs to go now we got a second corner. It also makes it very difficult on an offense with a shaky line to find any rythym when they sit on the bench forever.
A lot to fix, he's going to protect his team in the media

The OL stinks, Jones' ball protection pops up, WRs who lose battles against their man and disappear, a defense that cannot stop a pedestrian QB or running game. Bridgewater picked them apart like he knew everything Graham would call.

Giants played and coached a low football IQ performance today. Poor in-game awareness, coordinators got whipped, made Bridgewater and the Broncos look like they were the only NFL team on the field today.

We were fine on early downs but horrific on 3rd and 4th and long. No argument that he had a bad game though, way too passive and it felt like he didn't adjust to the shift in the talent on this defense. He needed to be more aggressive and that didn't come until we were basically dead.

Was most concerned with the run game. He thought it would take a couple weeks. Jackson missed most of camp. We have a rookie edge and two edge guys not playing in a year. Little patience here.

Now offense. Judge made changes to the staff. I think if the O doesn’t rebound big on Thursday Garrett’s gone. You have 10 days thereafter to adjust.

That “second corner” wasn’t worth a shit today.

leading the low IQ charge. Alot of hero ball by the DBs, Edges stink while Ojulari shows some promise he made a bone head error.

The Broncos are going to win 10 games this year.

They may, but they play the NFC East which ought to constitute at least 3 of those wins.
Look, today was not a good look
Matt M. : 9/13/2021 1:49 am : link
not for Judge. Not for the rest of the coaching staff. Not for the players on either side of the ball. But, most of that list was coach speak. The one that bothers me the most was #4. That was just a mistake on many levels. But, talk of giving up on Judge already is silly and premature, in my opinion.

Last year was a dismal season at 6 wins. But, there were also things that happened to indicate better was on the horizon. I would like to see where things go the next few weeks before I am ready to get to that point. That said, if they looking up at 1-3 or 0-4, and the wolves are circling, I woldn't blame them.
